LFC Player Threads / Re: Joe Gomez Player Thread (D)

It's a tricky one for Joe. He's been poor at centre half since that second knee injury but has filled in well at full back when needed. Having a right footer at LB does hurt us though so I really don't think Robertson came back into the team too early.

Summer opens up opportunity as the new manager might see things differently but it wouldn't surprise me if he looks to move on this summer.

Can't see Joe leaving this summer.

Possibly in a year if new guy doesn't rate him.

I'd happily sell Diaz and replace with a player who can play right side and centre. A Jarrod Bowen. Not him as he'd likely cost a fortune but that type.

Nunez I'd also entertain an offer for if, and a huge if, Salah wasn't going to be looking a move. Nunez I think is 50/50 if he ever fulfils his potential.

Salah wants a move or were happy to cash in on a big offer then we need to replace him with proven top level quality and Nunez stays as the fourth choice and a good option to have.

You know I think he might've.

He was a great servant and part of the first reds era - 77 to 86 - that I fell in love with.

Even if he'd  scored that one he' still be thick end of 40 goals / assists behind Robbo whilst playing in the dominant team in Europe.

I'm not dissing either Barney or Joey.

I just get bored people sleeping on the fact the guy we have now is truly special.....because he could score a few more.

Anyway. Joe's thread so I'll butt out and leave  those who know better to it.

Put Barney in the current team and his output would be the same as Robbo , and vice versa.  They are two of the best left backs seen and it’s near impossible to seperate the two

I don’t see too many wholesale changes this summer

Despite the doom and gloom the attacking unit is very good , its suffered with a bit of form and luck over the last month

But there aren’t many teams that have 5 quality forwards fighting for places plus a number of very talented youngsters behind them waiting to jump in

The only reason I think we would look to bring in a forward is if one decides to leave

Can’t see the manager wanting to get rid of anyone with giving them a season under his methods

      Mo
      Jota
      Diaz
      Gakpo
      Nunez

That’s full of goals and then add in Danns and Koumas waiting

Outgoing - Salah (strong possibility), Diaz (a maybe but leaning more towards a stay). Rest of them get a clean slate under a new regime before assessing again next summer.

Incoming - 2 right wingers. Maybe a RW than can also play as the #9. For me I'd love Bakayoko and Malen.

Olise is so good man. £60 million release clause.

There's better out there that you could poach for less and anyone that watches half as much football around Europe as they do the Prem would know this.

Olise is a good player but he's a little overrated on the grounds that we have the advantage of watching him most weeks.

Think he is doing a great job 👏

Gold, Silver and Bronze in that order.

It shows how underrated Joe was

He won a treble , ahead of Klopp and behind Shanks for me
