      Good Morning, Your Captains challenge idea has a certain amount of merit inasmuch as it reduces the randomness of VAR to review an incident...The Captain having 2/3 challenges, (not unlike test cricket)  means the incident HAS to be looked at again.
      The problem remains that just because the incident is checked, it doesn't mean it will be changed/reversed. You are of the opinion that had the referee been sent to the monitor he would have awarded a penalty, yet there is no guarantee of that. Human beings find it hard to admit fault and change their minds, we process it as a weakness....So there is quite a mountain to overcome to admit an error.

      Fabinho was difficult to replace and Endo wasn't really thought of in the first instance as replacement. Was a good few weeks before Endo staked his claim and my guess is the staff were pleasantly surprised. That allowed Mac to play the more advanced role but Fabinho was top draw.

      Van Dijk for me. Without him the season would have gone down the drain in the winter.

      Alisson also, despite his injury, was hugely influential again and would be 2nd for me.

      Mac Allister 3rd - had a super spell in the middle of the season but struggled initially (not his fault as he had to play as a 6) and then dropped off badly at the end.

      It’s only two they’ve gotta cut isn’t it?

      They’ve increased the squad size to 26 for this year. So I’m guessing one of the keepers (no squad needs 4) and going from what you’re saying it’ll be a toss up of Doak or Forrest.
