      Just F*ck the london pundits
We all know that when we win the league they will say "they won it because others had many injuries and and excuses like that"
so as said before don't care what they say as long as we are happy with our performances like today's at chelsea
Now we have to concentrate on pompey next wednesday to continue our great run

Does it occur to anyone else that we also kept a well-earned clean-sheet in one of the hardest Stadiums to play in?

Something for our defenders and Reina to be proud of! Another Golden Glove for Reina?

We dont want to see all these idiots in the press praise us we just want them to stop having a go at us!!! The only paper i will bother paying attention to is the Echo. David Maddock in the Mirror usually has an unbiased view towards Liverpool aswel.

I value Scolari's respect much higher than Andy Gray's!!!!!

First off I want to say this isn't in the same vain as Res' thread started a while back, because this isn't in terms of the result. I think we've all pretty much agreed that we can win there in terms of results, what I'm asking is can we win in terms of everybody's outlook towards Liverpool Football Club.

In my opinion we can't win that battle. If (or when) we win on Sunday the papers, pundits and rest of the pricks will be saying it's because Chelsea have got so many injuries (ignoring the fact that our star forward is probably out, Keane, Steive and Xabi doubts) and how difficult Chelsea's midweek game was (ignoring the fact that we had a tougher game away and again we're travelling down south whereas Chelsea haven't had to move.) There'll be constant referances to their home record without a mention of it finally gone to the hands of Liverpool. The question won't be can Liverpool really win the league but have Chelsea thrown the league away.

I just don't see us winning any praise whatsoever come Sunday, so when there isn't any I won't be whinging.

Anybody think we may actually win some praise for once?
do we actually give a toss if we don't get any praise from the cockney tabloid .us reds all no how good we was today thats enough

well in to alan hansen for sticking up for the reds...despite the other pundit on motd2 saying we had no chance come the end of the season

sky seemed to give us about 5 minutes coverage after the result for punditary....then onto spurs.... that was the biggest match of the season.... that just shows a serious biased towards chelski..... disgrace.... should have been 30 minutes discussion on that match....with 20 dedicated to the reds..

ill buy the echo tonight instead.

That guy on MOTD2 was a complete tosser, if he still thinks we can't challenge for the league after beating both utd and Chelsea, then he is a F***ing retard. I think thats the first time in a long time I've seen Hansen fully sticking up for us, like Thommo!

I don't give a F**k what the press say about us, as long as we the fans know that we in with a shot, and the players know the fans are behind them then I don't care what they say!

I'm sure we'll get  praise from some quarters of the media, journo's and pundits alike. Of course it wont be overboard because we're not Man United, Chelsea or Arsenal who play this orgasmic football week in week out. For every bit of praise we get they'll be just as many sceptics and critics excusing Chelsea's loss, rather than our win. Who cares though ?

I dont, I'm happy for our team to be in the shadow of the media spolight while Man United, Chelsea and Arsenal take the plaudits. Although it is a little hard to be in the preverbial shadow when your sitting at the summit of the table. But still, let people right us off, let people call us lucky because at the end, if we do do the unthinkable (which TBH I dont think we will, thats for another debate) it will make the success sweeter, and the so-called expert pundits and journos alike will have to eat a huge chunk of humble pie.

I'm going to praise our boys in this thread, because I was absolutely over the moon with the performance and result our lads churned out yesterday. For the want of a few words, that was f.cuking fantastic !!
This season we have shown true character and a resiliance thats been long missing. People say we're lucky, and that you cannot keep coming from behind if you have aspirations on winning the league. That is true to an extent, but would the media be shouting the same song had that been United making those comebacks or Chelsea for that matter. 'Thats the sign of true champions' would be the call, even though it s.hits me to hear this, it shouldnt.

Anyway yesterdays performance was brilliant, the gameplan was excecuted to perfection. In recent weeks if I'm honest our defence has looked a little shakey, but when preparing for a tough away trip down at the Bridge. It is essential you work on this aspect imo in training a few days before. In comparisson we let in two at home to Wigan where I believe the gameplan would of been on working out how to break a 'bus' down. Although Bruce shocked Liverpool as his team actually came out and played a pretty open game I dont think that mentality of keeping it tight was in the front of the players minds.
Yesterday Rafa went with five in the middle, to add cover to the back four and to stiffle Chelsea's rythm. It worked they looked pretty ordinary and no doubt will make sorry excuses because players like Cole and Drogba were missing. But they didnt make that complaint a week ago after putting five past Boro. Exactly, credit goes to us. Alonso, Carra and Gerrard were immense, Riera and Agger were very good to. Hell the whole eleven did their job and I cannot praise them enough.

Never has such a distinguished record been extinguished with less fuss.

Well in Reds, well in Rafa YNWA !!

      Our fans were excellent to.

I've seen a lot of praise for us in the press. Most of it is posted here somewhere.

It also occured to me that we're to only team to have stopped Chelsea scoring this year. And we've done it twice ;)

      Alan Hansen's column

      By Alan Hansen
      BBC Sport football expert

The bookmakers on Monday morning still have Liverpool as third favourites for the Premier League title and I would probably go along with that.

But I think they are a lot closer to winning it than I was thinking at the start of the season.

They have really impressed me at times, none more so than on Sunday when they defeated Chelsea, and I think they have got a real chance of winning the championship.

If Liverpool are going to overcome the odds then they have to contend with four very different types of games, some they seem to be developing a knack for.

First, they have to win when they play badly. Second, they must come back from the dead like they did against Middlesbrough, Manchester City and Wigan.

Also key is abandoning caution when it comes to playing the lesser teams.

But the biggest priority for this season is taking points off their biggest rivals because their record against Manchester United, Chelsea and Arsenal has been really poor.

Against Manchester United earlier in the season, they came back from 1-0 down, and struggling, with a magnificent display. But Sunday's victory over Luiz Felipe Scolari's men was a highlight.

Liverpool provided a terrific performance at Stamford Bridge. They defended well for an hour and then Chelsea virtually ran out of ideas.

In the end there was only one team that was going to score and that was Liverpool and that was a tribute to Rafael Benitez's tactics. He really outmanoeuvred Scolari.

Somewhere along the line Benitez has found out that he needs to be more adventurous. He's still got that hint of caution as we saw on Sunday.

When they went behind at Anfield to the champions United, they became more aggressive and more adventurous in attack.

At times this season even though they are playing very much as a team, there is a bit more adventure because they perhaps realise that against the lesser teams, unless you abandon caution, you can't roll them.

There is a long way to go yet, nobody's ever won a championship medal in October, but the signs are good. Certainly, Liverpool have grown in confidence and they've grown together as a team

I've just changed the title, because it's the same question. And for me it's the same answer. No we can't.

If (or rather when) we beat Portsmouth this Wednesday, we won't recieve praise for being top of the league, it'll all be Portsmouth are still coming to terms with Redknapp's departure. So again, the media as a whole, have the excuse all ready and waiting for our win in midweek.

But again F**k them, let them say it's because of this or that. They've done it before and we've come out stronger.

      From Wiki:

"Chelsea hold the record for the longest streak of unbeaten matches at home in the English top-flight. They secured the record on 12 August 2007, beating the previous run of 63 matches set by Liverpool between 1978 and 1980.[47] The unbeaten home run was finally ended after 86 matches when Chelsea were beaten 1-0 by Liverpool at Stamford Bridge on 26 October 2008 thanks to a 1st half goal from Xabi Alonso[48]."

We decided enough was enough, that they couldn't go too far beyond our record.

We gave them a head start but now we just have to take another record back to Anfield!!!:)

Anyone else notice that Manure are second favourites for the title but they sit down in 6th??? If that was us we wouldn't be given a prayer. We'd be told we were out of the race already! Not half biased eh?

One thing that would show some sign of praise is Benitez getting the manager of the month award for October. We won all four league games in the month, so Benitez must take the award.

While every one is going on about how lucky we are and how unfortunate all our opponents are, week in, week out. The next being " Spurs, under a new manager and not settled down yet"  We can just plod on and every team who lines up against us will be believing, we are only at the top by good luck and not good football, so they will be capable of beating us. Let them carry on underestimating us and play right into our hands. As the pundits slag us off, those who refuse to take us serious, do so at thier peril.
