Translation programme

Does anyone know where I can find/download a decent translation programmes as the one I've got doesn't work with vista & most I've seen translate sh*te or are bloody expensive?

What's wrong with the numerous ones available on the web for free (BabelFish etc) ?
They do the job pretty well unless you want some really accurate translations.

Word for word is impossible on translators like that!

I remember one lad typed out his homework in English and copy and pasted it into Babelfish, thinking he was the dog's bollocks. Our Spanish teacher called him up the next day in front of the whole class and asked him why he'd written his whole essay in Portugese!

A mate of mine at school is Swiss/Nigerian and he is always using translators so could have a look to see what he uses for you.

I'd imagine ANY online translator or computer program has equal problems in translating.  The only thing I would say about stuff like the Google thing is that it is always learning.  If you translate a page using it and you notice an error than you can 'suggest' what it should be.

I think this is a great example of a computer program (in this case online) using the power of the internet to improve.

The Google one is the best online one I've used. Much better than babelfish.
