Just abysmal, not really very professional under Stokes.More an attitude, 'if it works fine, if it doesn't well..WTF.'

Complete lack of application. Towel in attitude.

Just when you think the England cricket team couldn't embarass themselves further, they manage it. Once again some of the most pathertic amateur cricket I've ever seen and I've been watching test cricket since the mid 80s.

I'd hate to be a bowler in this team. Why should they take their bowling seriously when the batsmen clearly don't give a fcuk about batting. I've seen alot more character, application, patience and determination in my 7 year old than you'll see from an England batsman.

Bairstow 🤣🤣🤣🤣 still contributing the sq root of fcuk all. How long is it going to carry on for .... he's absolute rubbish. Keep him in long enough though he will get that slogged innings that will keep him in for another year of failure.

India should bat tomorrow until they've got a lead of 150 ... declare and it will be all over inside 3 days and victory by an innings.

India easily beat England but on the plus side Jimmy Anderson claimed his 700th Test wicket.

Right up there as one of the all-time sporting greats in my opinion.

Test team in name only. Their playing a mix of one day and 20/20 slogging. Turned test Cricket into an grotesque caricature of the game.  They call it bazball but in truth it's just a mess. It's not some grand strategy transforming test Cricket. All any decent test team has to do is concentrate, head down and stick around and wait for England to self destruct.

The England management and team have lost the plot....as well as the series.

Bazball has won the square root of fcuk all. And never will. And needs binning off. Its lazy slogathon cricket with no accountability it seems.

McCullum needs to go. India played well. They showed patience and even without some of their stars dug in and got runs.

I think the whole test game laughs at England. No determination. No patience , no heart and no character. They 'might' scrape a win against West indies and Sri Lanka at home in the summer with lazy slogathon cricket. Even the useless bairstow might get a 50. But they will never beat south Africa, Australia or India because they have not got any of the required skills to beat quality teams at test level.

The batting is absolutely pitiful. Their approach is village cricket standard ... not test level. They don't value their wickets. They don't have the bottle. Just hide behind bazball lads ... and be a flat track bully at home against the lesser nations. Embarrassing.

Jimmy Anderson has announced that the first Test this summer will be his last.

      Anderson announces retirement
England bowler James Anderson has confirmed he will retire from Test cricket this summer.

In a statement the 41-year-old, England's leading wicket-taker and one of the greatest bowlers of all time, said the first Test against West Indies on 10 July will be his last.

The decision comes after Anderson held talks with Test coach Brendon McCullum, who wants to build a bowling attack for the future.

"I'm going to miss walking out for England so much," Anderson said.

"But I know the time is right to step aside and let others realise their dreams just like I got to, because there is no greater feeling."

Anderson made his debut in 2003 and has taken 700 wickets in 187 Tests - the most by any pace bowler in Test history.

He is third on the all-time list of wicket-takers in Tests behind spinners Muttiah Muralitharan of Sri Lanka and Australia's Shane Warne.

It is not clear whether he will continue to play for his county, Lancashire.

"It has been an incredible 20 years representing my country, playing the game I've loved since I was a kid," Anderson said.

"I'm excited for the new challenges that lie ahead, as well as filling my days with even more golf.

"Thank you to everyone who has supported me over the years, it's always meant a lot, even if my face often doesn't show it."

Richard Thompson, the chair of the England and Wales Cricket Board, said English cricket owes Anderson a "send-off like no other".

"I don't think we'll ever see a bowler to match Jimmy again," he said. "It has been an honour as an England fan to watch him, and to marvel at his skill with the ball.

"To still be bowling at the top of his game at 41 is remarkable, and he is a true inspiration and role model for peers and younger generations alike.

"His final Test promises to be an emotional one and, having been there for his first Test in 2003, it will be an honour to watch his final one at Lord's in July."

      https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/cricket/articles/c98z9rqd79vo

It's been an honour to watch the greatest English bowler of all-time play and his final Test is sure to be emotional. Shame it's not at his home ground of Old Trafford but I suppose it's fitting to be at the home of cricket at Lord's.

      Thank you Jimmy!

Gutted for Jimmy. Feels like he is being pushed really. They can bring a younger bowler in ... but said bowler wont be as good.

Whoever they see replacing him, maybe a full summer opening the bowling alongside Jimmy is the way to go.

Wish he was playing at OT. But lets make no mistake about it, hes being pushed out. I doubt he would have played one test this summer and retired off his own back.

Pace bowling numbers we might never seen again in the modern game - what a player.

The right time to call it quits though I think. 5 wickets at 85 in the Ashes last summer probably made the decision for McCullum.

Jürgen, now Jimmy. As a sentimental old softy it's going to be tough saying goodbye after all this time. Loads of great memories though.

Not great from Pakistan..all out 157. Some top spin from Rashid. Good LFC fan Moen Ali chipping in as well. But 158 to win. Not a walk in the park but should be reachable.

Is a walk in the park so far 78-0 off 6 overs. Poor Pakistan attack, worst I've seen for a while.

T20 World Cup starts at 01:30 tomorrow morning with America against Canada in Texas. Nothing says cricket quite like that does it?

And then the other co-hosts, the West Indies, start their campaign at half three in the afternoon (our time) against Papa New Guinea in Guyana.

We also have Nepal, Oman, Uganda and Namibia along with the usual suspects to round out the 20 team tournament.

England's campaign gets under way on Tuesday at half three (our time) against Scotland in Barbados. Australia, Oman and Namibia complete our group and with the top two qualifying from each group for the Super 8 groups then you've got to fancy our chances of at least getting that far.

And the final will be on the 29th June, also in Barbados.

Good to see a proper group stage with everyone rather than that bollocks we had before where the weaker teams would essentially play their own tournament first to 'qualify'.

Didn’t get to watch any of the yanks match with Canada as I was in work first thing today but looks like they won fairly comfortably with a great knock from some lad called Jones. 94 not out is nothing to be sneezed at regardless of the quality of opposition, especially when it comes in just 40 balls.

Should be home in time for the West Indies match though. Hopefully they can have a good run in this as well, keep the home crowd interested. Few things better in cricket than the West Indian crowd in full carnival atmosphere.

Papua New Guinea only set the West Indies 137 to win their opening game but the host nation are making a right pigs ear of this.

      They're 97-5 requiring 40 from 24 balls.

In the end, the Windies have won with an over to spare.

The 18th over was the one that changed the game.

Oman and Namibia went to a super over in the early game today, with Namibia winning in the end.

The half three game is Sri Lanka v South Africa. Hopefully be a good one.

Sri Lanka won the toss elected to bat and are bowled out for 77 from 19.1 overs.

Really poor showing from them. But also some excellent bowling from South Africa.
