      Champions League Final Info
      Feb 18, 2009 04:05:16 pm
I know jumping the gun a bit, but here goes:

20,000 tickets for both competing teams.
      10,000 in the ballot
      17,000 for the "football family"

priced at 200 Euros on the sides
      140 Euros in the corners
      90 Euros behind the goal

Fans will come first at this season's UEFA Champions League final in Rome. European club football's showpiece occasion at the Stadio Olimpico in the Italian city on 27 May will see 50,000 of the 67,000 capacity tickets go to football fans, while free transport will be available for supporters holding match tickets for a three-day period.

      Fans first
In an address in Rome announcing that tickets for the game will go on sale to the general public via uefa.com on 2 March, UEFA vice-president Marios N Lefkaritis explained some of UEFA's goals for the final. "I am pleased to say that, with the 10,000 tickets that go on general sale, plus the allocation to the two finalists of 20,000 tickets each, a total of 50,000 tickets out of the 67,000 capacity of the Stadio Olimpico will go to football fans," he said. "This is well in line with [UEFA President Michel Platini's] wish that 75 per cent of the stadium's capacity is reserved directly for the fans and something we are proud of.

      'Free transport'
"Let me mention briefly that the close co-operation with the authorities of Rome has so far been outstanding, and especially with ATAC [Agenzia del trasporto autoferrotranviario del Comune di Roma], who will provide free transport to those fans holding tickets for the UEFA Champions League final for the duration of three days," he added.

      'Great offer'
"This is truly a great concept and we appreciate it very much, so thank you to the City of Rome for this great offer. I would also like to express UEFA's sincere gratitude to the City of Rome, to [the Italian National Olympic Committee] CONI and to the Federazione Italiana Giuoco Calcio [FIGC or Italian FA] for their partnership with UEFA in the organisation of such a prestigious event as the final of the UEFA Champions League.

      Efforts appreciated
"Let me thank once again the entire local organising committee and all those people involved so far for all your efforts," Mr Lefkaritis continued. "You have put a lot of effort into this project, and while there is still a way to go, I am sure it will be an outstanding success."

Just wondering looking at those prices if arse slashings are included in the price or is that extra?

And who's gonna be the first to use that pic as a template for printing your own ticket.

a pessimist might say only 27,000 going to the touts this time then? wonder how many of the 20,000 allocated will actually filter through the club to the fans and not go off to sponsors and hospitality.

think for 200 euros Huyton you get both cheeks slashed

wheres my scissors then off to change my name to Mr VIP

You wouldn't be able to put that ticket in your pocket would you  ;) :lmao:

Let's just hope UEFA have learnt a harsh lesson from the catastrophe  in Athens.

This will still cause problems for any English teams that get to go - the stadium simply isn't big enough.

Why don't UEFA ever learn their lesson?
