      Ticket Touts
      Mar 12, 2009 11:01:12 pm
What do people in general think of ticket touts, and how would they deal with them ?

My lad made the trip to Anfield on Tuesday, didn't think there was much chance of a ticket but went to be involved in what was expected to be a memorable night. He wasn't disappointed and watched the match in the Sandon. Incidently, there were tickets available from many touts around the ground.

The cheapest was £ 300. Some were asking £ 400.This was right up until 5 mins before K.O. He was warned, if you get one for less than £ 250.It's probably a forgery. Now I know there are lads who have access to tickets who have not had work for many a month due to no fault of thier own, and this is a good source of income for their families. Especially on a famous night like Tuesday. However, I would just want to beat the crap out of them, and give them the face value for the ticket. Am I being to harsh ?what are others opinions in this, and where do they get wads of tickets from in the first place? :f_doh:

Someone I know was selling tickets for £200 each. I think its a disgrace, people trying to make money out of it. I would never sell a ticket for more than face value for any game if I had a spare.

Never had any time for tw*ts, Oh sorry Touts!! Genuine fans would have more access to tickets if it wasnt for them and their 'Sources'.

Some people are always going to have their heads turned by money.  It's a sad fact of life.  I am sure there are fella's out there, people even on this forum, who have got all their credits - get all the tickets and flog them for as much as they can.

We had one user on here once who had a fair number of posts next to his name.  When he couldn't flog a few tickets once (citing some sh*t excuse why he couldn't go) he threw a strop and did one.

The simple fact is that ticket touting is illegal - it's ripping off other Liverpool supporters, but what can you expect when we play in a stadium far too small for our requirements as Europe's number 1 club (even UEFA say so).

The club themselves could do a lot to clamp down on this but Rick Parry is one useless mother f**ker and has made the ticketing system far worse.  To think of people profiting off fellow Liverpool fans is despicable in my opinion.

And I'd just like to throw Thomas Cook in to the mix as 'ticket touts' as well.

People who are caught passing on their tickets to touts should get their season ticket taken off them and banned from the ground IMO.

was told a guy was walked to the ticket office by the busies to confirm ownership of his tickets. When approached after he returned he said he had all his tickets confiscated. F***ing good job too.

The touts are vermin, the only people who have to buy tickets from those ratbags will in all probability be genuine REDS supporters. And genuine REDS do not deserve to be ripped off.

      I absolutely hate ticket touting.
Surely this would be a way to stop it(or atleast cut it down):
Just say every fan orders their own cards, like a fancard with their picture on it. They then use this card to buy tickets with and when they buy the ticket, their card gets credited with the match and they just scan the card and show someone on the gate that they are the owner of the card(showing the card picture) to get in. If they cannot go the match they contact the club and the game comes off their card and they get a refund (within so many days) and back on general sale to other people.
      Think that would work?
