Which LFC memory gets them shivers a sendin?
      May 29, 2010 01:08:11 pm
I've just made a post in the 'Can't Blame Gerrard For leaving' Topic (http://www.lfcreds.com/reds/index.php?topic=30429.25) and it got me to wondering.........

What moment/memory gets the shivers goin down your spine? It doesn't have to be anythin specific like a goal, it can be somethin that happened at a match, someone you met but LFC related would be best as we can all relate to it. Seein a ghost on the landin when you were 6 is a bit obscure like.

Personally, every time i hear YNWA i shiver

Stevies goal against Olympiakos "Wot a Hit Son, Wot a hit" *shivers*

Many parts after the whistle blew for the second half of Istanbul until i was so drunk that shivering was beyond me and i fell asleep very, very drunk.

Over to you, feel free to post pics or clips if it'll help people shiver.

YNWA, Fields of Anfield Road and the Torres Bounce are something really special. They were even sung in Singapore.

The thing about Liverpool FC is, there are many special events that have happened in the 10 years I've been a fan. From being the come back kings (yeah, we went behind in 12 games last season, only losing once, I think) to our 12 days of Christmas, everything is special. Two 4-4 draws last season, that I think were Premier League and Champions League game of the season.

It is also worth noting that our 2001 FA Cup, 2001 UEFA Cup, 2005 Champions League and 2006 FA Cup wins have been won in tremendous style.

YNWA being sung before the match.
I personally think of the 96 angles everytime it's sung, and that prepares me for the match.

      In no particular order.

Hearing "You'll Never Walk Alone" being sung always gets to me, brings tears to my eyes it's such an emotional thing.

Winning our first European Cup was also a special moment.

Getting through to the 2005 Istanbul final was also special.  When my fella asked me why I was crying after the semi final win my reply was "because we're back where we belong".

Now I just shiver everytime I read of yet another f**k up by our infamous owners.

Everytime mate - it gets you seeing it on TV but actually being amongst the emotion in the ground is indescribable.

Just as Shevchenko stepped up to take his pen, someone from behind where I was sitting piped up with:

      "What happens if he misses"

      Me: "We F***ing win lad"

The celebrations in Istanbul leaving me almost teary eyed.

The celebrations after the Chelsea semi in 2005 - 20 years in the waiting exploded in one massive celebration.

Singing YNWA at St James's Park in 1997/98, during the extra time half-time of the Carling Cup quarter-final, after watching Northumberland Police and stewards lashing fellow Reds out for the previous 105 minutes for daring to stand and open their gobs.

Stopping Man U winning the league in 1992, then delightfully singing to them "You lost the league on Merseyside," "Always look on the bright side of life" and then as we were leaving the ground a massive "We're going to Wembley."

Ok who knew it would be another nine years or so before we were back to having that much fun.

After the semi with Chelsea in 2005 when the whole of the stadium was singing YNWA  just thinking about it now raises the shackles .

2005 final was just beyond me...

I was going crazy at that moment how 6 minutes extra time was added, I was more enraged than happy.

Istanbul is just crazy to me, it gets me every time to be honest.

Gerrard's goal against Olympiacos, after it looked like we were dead and buried. I remember a similar match against Auxerr in the UEFA cup when we were 2-0 after the first leg, and scored 3 at Anfield to win the tie 3-2. Brilliant match atmosphere that night.

Was there that night mate, there was almost a black cartoon cloud of dejection rose from the silenced kop, when we bought him from Arsenal there were some mixed emotions for a while.

But met Michael Thomas in 2005 in Istanbul, dead nice fella and loves us more than Arsenal!!

I was at that game. The 88 Cup Final was even worse and I was there too!

Istanbul. Standing in Kenny's living room having a 3-way hug with Kenny and John. Brilliant. Bouncing in the aisles when we beat the mancs last season was quite special too ;)

Fantastic day that. Wierd how one of the best moments at Anfield in recent times for me came during one of worst seasons of recent times.

The obvious one here has to be Istanbul. Words just can't describe it.

Excluding family occasions, the best night of my life.
