      Crouch Back for Gooners game
      Mar 26, 2007 07:32:31 pm
From Sky sports news (so it must be true)

Crouch is now back in training and Reds boss Rafa Benitez believes the big forward could return against Arsenal next weekend.

"He is able to train with the ball, but we're keeping him away from any physical contact," said Benitez.

"I think he should be okay by next week, but we'll see how quickly the nose heals. We don't think it will be a big problem."

everyone has an opinion on Crouch, mine is I think he`s got quality, with a pair of quality wingers he would have so much more to give.

even without decent service from the flanks he`s still our top scorer making only 3 full 90 minute appearances this year His strike rate is 0.35 which  isn`t as good as it should be but keeping in mind the amount of times he`s come on with minutes to go or been subbed early on its artificially lower than it should be, yes Kuyt works hard for the team but with only 3 premiership goals this year hes hardly prolific.

reading a lot of post people would be glad to see him go for 8 Million, but i`m firmly in the keep him camp and investing in some wingers who can produce the final ball and chip in with a few goals of their own and investing in another quality striker to play off ther big man.

I agree, he just needs to learn how to get a bit of power into those towering headers!

But I see no signs that he is even working on his weaknesses. >:( If I'm bad in a certain aspect of my profession and don't even try to improve it, my customers will look for another supplier.

One can expect of a man with Crouch's income that he takes up some extra target training and workout to strengthen his neck muscles. As long as he doesn't, I can't respect him.

That is a very good point, very good point. Been a professional in a club like Liverpool is the beginning of the hard work, not the end, it's like managers in any sector who think that because they are managers they ll have to do less work, not at all you'll have to do more. I don't know why Crouch doesn't work on his weaknesses, he is certainly not good enough in my opinion to be choice number 1 on the squad and with the funds we have now the situation for him will probably be worse, maybe he knows something we don't..

Please give Rafa some credit I`m sure he is aware of crouchs short comings, and they are working to improve them he might not be the finished article but the only way to be match sharp is to play matches. crouchs biggest short comming is a lack of decent wingers to supply the service. perhaps Rafa is to busy trying to teach Pennant & Co how to cross a ball

I heard a lot of speculation as to how much money will be made available, but have not heard nothing definite,I would agree that additional quality is required but the first area that requires strengthening is the flanks. but strongly Believe Crouch has lots to offer LFC and offers a whole different attacking option.
