      Dossena praises Aquilani and Gerrard
      Nov 16, 2009 11:26:47 am
Andrea Dossena believes the combination of Steven Gerrard and Alberto Aquilani could give Liverpool the most deadly midfield in English football.
The Italy international is a big fan of Aquilani, who signed from Roma in the summer but is still waiting for his first start due to injury.

And Dossena can't wait to see his countryman in regular action alongside arguably the best midfielder in world football.

"Potentially, Aquilani is a great player," said the left-back.

"He is a complete midfielder who can do everything at both ends of the pitch. He can run, defend, make a hard tackle or score with his terrific shot from long distance.

"He and Gerrard together can give us the strongest midfield in the league, and one of the strongest at European level. Over the past two seasons he has played little football because of his injuries, but when he is fully fit he will prove his value.

"Give him just a little time to settle in England, on and off the pitch, and he will be a sensational player."

      Nice one Dossena, encouraging words.

To be fair, Andrea isn't being a pr**k considering he never plays for us - then again, why would he be, when we're paying him however much a week!

Haven't you heard? Dosenna was brought in to Liverpool for the sole purpose of making Aquilani and any future Italian signings feel at home! That he has a knack of scoring goal number 4 and also plays football was just a bonus!

Let us hope that Dossena is right with his predictions,if ever the time was right for a new player to excite the crowd and to get the right results on the pitch it is now.Anfield is your oyster  Aquilani so it is time to step up and show us what you can do.Please prove Dossena right hopefully against Man City.

Dossena instead of commenting about players you will not play with why don't you talk to your agent and get him to get a club interested in you or maybe not as your wage demands are pathetic for a reserve player.

in all fairness to the guy he is an established international player for one of the top 5 or 6 countries in the world. sure, he hasn't adapted to our league (although I don't think he is all that bad, especially as a left mid...I'd play him there ahead of Riera but that's just me) but he is entitled to still think of himself as a top player and look for the best move for himself.

i just don't understand why internet warriors think that people, and clubs, should just give away millions in fees or wages just to suit their own particular opinions.

when LFC get offered what they think is a fair price for him and then Dossena gets what he thinks is a fair wage the deal will be on.

until then, well, not much to do but wait. ripping the player over and over serves no purpose whatsoever.
