His potential has no doubt come to the attention of the manager and as in the case of Torres maybe the lad has a desire to play for the club,for obvious reasons.

I like the sound of wonderkid, though. Never seen him play so I don't know how good he is, but at 17 he is likely to improve.

F**k me. If all of these wonderkids we seem to be bringing in each season work out, we'll have one hell of a team in 5-10 years time Rafa really does have a long term plan laid out.

Why not sign a "wonderkid" who will go straight in and make an impact in the 1st team rather then spend 2 or 3 years in the reserves or being loaned out? Dont get all excited by this boys and girls as we already have at least 3 lads in the reserve side with all the ability in the world but arent near the 1st team

Exactly. They are not proven, young players arrive with quite a bit of risk, so inevitably their price will be lower.
