David Sullivan said: "I made a promise that I would not sell Scott and I will not, for any amount of money, break that promise to the West Ham supporters. Scott is not for sale at any price, to anyone. West Ham supporters, for far too long, have had owners that sell their best players and promise one thing and do another.

      Closing time?

I believe he is a very good player, a very very good player, but just too old for us at the moment, and i agree banega would be a better option...he would be available fairly cheap...valencias money problems

I like Parker but being English his price is going to be massively over inflated. Ā£8 million would be a good deal for the 30 year old but F**k me I hear insane talk about Ā£15 million plus.

Clearly West Ham are not going to sell him, "For any price, to any club". Any point in this thread seeing as Tottenham had a bid rejected?

Things can change...ie...if he puts in transfer request.

Well, a contract is still a contract. Remember two summers ago when Barry was desperate to joins us. We all know how that worked out.

Liverpool to make shock Parker swoop - Exclusive
Published 23:00 31/07/10 By Steve Stammers

Liverpool are set to make an Ā£8million bid for Scott Parker.

Anfield boss Roy Hodgson has pinpointed the West Ham midfielder as the man to replace Javier Mascherano, who is set to join Inter Milan in a Ā£20m deal.

The Hammers hierarchy have insisted that Parker is the one player they will not sell this summer.

ā€œNot at any price,ā€ said chairman David Sullivan.

That has not stopped Tottenham declaring their interest.

And just as Liverpool allowed Spurs and Arsenal to make the running in the pursuit of Joe Cole, before stealing their thunder, they are poised to strike again with Parker. The key issue is whether West Ham will relax their tough stance.

The Upton Park club have been boosted by the news that Robert Green wants to stay and they are likely to start talks soon with Matthew Upson about a new contract.

Upsonā€™s current deal expires at the end of this season and he would qualify for a free transfer but West Ham want to avoid that scenario.

Meanwhile, Hodgsonā€™s attempts to land Christian Poulsen have been given a boost after the Juventus midfielderā€™s agent said it was an ā€œhonourā€ to be linked with Liverpool.

Joern Bonnesen, his agent, said: ā€œThere has not been any contact and there is not much more that can be said until there has been, but we know thereā€™s an interest from them.ā€

Finally a bit of a link! Been waiting for this.

I really like Scott Parker and I'd certainly have him here.

Exactly what I was going to say  :)

I think anything above Ā£6 or Ā£7 million for Parker is to much, he is 30 now and his best years aren't ahead of him.

Still think both Defour and Banega are better value for money because of their fee's and ages.

I'm a big fan of Banega RedBlood and would prefer him ahead of Parker but I just can't believe the Ā£8.5 million fee they are talking about, they paid nearly Ā£17 million for him and last season he was brilliant.

Don't believe they would have put a buy out clause for less than half what they paid for him.

I'm not so sure mate if you type Bangea's 8.5 million clause into google, everywhere is reporting the same story.

Really like Scott Parker, and I think he's a better player now than he was at Newcastle and Chelsea. Would be a nice replacement for Mascherano.

Yeh, I actually want him. He better than Lucas and Aquilani, that's for sure.

      :lmao:

Don't think Aquilani has had a fair enough crack of the whip to be written off by Scott Parker.

Was gonna say the same thing :D Aquilani is what, 25? Parker is heading towards the end of his career, and not to mention Aquilani has only had one season - injury riddled - in the Premier league so far. Get's fit and some game time, he'll be brilliant i think.
