      Carra Offered Testimonial
      Jan 07, 2007 06:23:48 pm
Liverpool have offered Kop hero Jamie Carragher a testimonial to commemorate 10 years of great service to the club.
No date has been set for a match and details are still to be finalised.

Since making his debut as a substitute in a Carling Cup defeat at Middlesbrough in 1997 the Bootle born defender has gone on to be a hero with the Liverpool fans.

From his heroic displays in Istanbul and Cardiff when he played through the pain barrier with cramp, the Kop always dream of a team of Carraghers.

The local hero has won every honour with Liverpool except the Premiership title and is rapidly approaching 450 games in a red shirt.

I hope everyone will be out in force, to show JC are appreciation for his service. And of course he's donating all the proceeds to local charities.

The last testimonial that I remember going to was for Ronnie Moran against Celtic and I think that was in 2000!

I would imagine it would be Everton.  Really couldn't think of anyone else.   Unless AC Milan fancy a re-match?

The lad thoroughly deserves it but is it not a bit early for talk of his testimonial. Hes got plenty of years in a red shirt ahead of him  and hes obviously not gonna leave!

      I heard that as well.

He will probably get booed from LFC and MAN U fans when he returns to them after wearing the LFC shirt again.
