Personally I think Broughton will do his job and keep to his ideology to sell the club in a matter of months. The man has his own career and reputation at stake, Broughton himself has said its a willing buyers market and he has willing sellers, there is no price on the club, so for me I think potential buyers will all put a value on the club and I'm not even going to think about the highest bid wins as Broughton said he would take the offer that was best for Liverpool Football Club and I have a tendancy to believe the fella. I just can't imagine him selling his reputation down the river for Tom & Georges benefit, even more so considering his allegiances to Chelsea as that would come under scrutiny.

However Ayrton looking at the end of year accounts along with this refinancing, we are insolvent.  Our debt's outstrip our assets - we basically cannot pay our creditors.

I doubt even administration will save us it'll be full on liquidation.

Technically we are in administration now.

That is how/why Broughton was appointed: because RBS did not trust Hicks/Gillett/Purslow to sell.

I just hope to god that Broughton is as good as his word  - Re the interview on LFC TV on 7/5/10- and that the club can be sold within the next few months. He seemed confident of this, but whether this is an act or not remains to be seen.

I think the only thing that you can honestly conclude from the interview is... pretty girl.

To describe the interview as soft would be a massive understatement.

This was a smooth PR exercise... a prepared statement from Broughton for consumption by the masses in highly controlled situation.

A number of the points that Broughton made were almost immediately contradicted by the figures contained in the accounts or self contradictory.

For instance, if he's so confident that the club will be sold in the next few months why has the loan facility been extended for 12 months? That's actually longer than the term of his appointment.

His statement is not compatible with the facts as we know them.

If his role is strictly to ensure the sale of the club with the current management team running the club on a daily basis how can he make comments about not selling Torres and Gerrard? By his own terms of reference he has as much input into that decision as I do. That decision will actually be made by Hicks/Gillett/Purslow.

I'm not trying to dismiss Broughton he's there to do a job... for the banks not for the fans.

We would all do well to remember that because he's not our saviour and to be honest I don't believe that there is a buyer out there who is even remotely interested right now.
