Great video of the Kop from the past. Personally not old enough to have been on the terraced Kop as I was born in 1994 but it's amazing to see what it was like before.

It was Adryan....I had a Season Ticket on the kop, used to go to all the home games, and a lot of the away games as well, it was what you might call a Magical time, especially when we were winning everything in sight, we didn't know it at the time but we were spoilt with success.

I went a few times, Nothing like it. Walking up those stairs, up and up and up, and then just over the crescent the brilliant green pitch. And then to find your favourite spot so the two pillars were not in the way of the goals, all that for £1. Fantastic memories.

I started going in the Kop when I was about 12 in the early 70's. Even with 20,000 plus in there I never felt anything but safe and nobody ever pissed in my pocket. ;D
The best part was queing up at the gates from about 11 O'clock for a big game and getting in the ground hours before kickoff cheering everything that went on.
      Oh happy days.

Only managed to stand in the Kop a few occasions.  Spent half of my childhood out the country, I had seen Liverpool at 14 other grounds before I ever got to Anfield though.  Mainly a cost and age thing, I had to earn my own money as I was never given pocket money & my old man, although happy for me to travel to grounds on my own at 14-15, never wanted me to stay overnight anywhere and be back home before 2200.  The one that stands out for me, was my last visit, when we played Swindon Town, the result was poor, a 2-2 draw - I remember a thumping header from Ruddock for one of them.  The thing that stood out though, the atmosphere, the fact that away fans were standing by our side and as long as they behaved & were respectful, no one had an issue with them.

What a fantastic video. I had goosebumps during that ceremony.

Love hearing the stories you all tell, too.

unfortuantely never got to stand there but it looks amazing. the stories that go along with it are brilliant. as I said, aa lot of these were before my time, but I still got goosebumps watching the second half of the video and the reception those legends got were unparalleled to any other I've ever heard.

Is the Kop for ticket holders only? Haven't been sure where to ask these kinds of questions. What would it take for Liverpool supporters from Aus to come over and stand on the Kop? Hell all we really want is to not be packed in with these so called fairweathers that don't sing the songs or show any emotion and don't even sing YNWA. But to stand on the Kop is something my old man and I have to do.

You would have to have a ticket to get on the Kop, you can't usually pay on the gate.
