I have a dog, sorry but it annoys me when an pedestrian walks past and jumps at the sight of my dog, or crosses the road and gives me and my dog a dirty look,

      1. If you act normal and casual the dog won't be excited by your presence where as if you jump or start trying to run past it, she will think your trying to play, its common sense.

      2. My dog hasn't harmed you, she has not harmed anyone, so why give me a dirty look, or cross the road and stare me down as if I have done something wrong.

But in your case squirrel, the owner should of had the dogs under control as mine never barks at people, and if you were to be scared of dogs and you had a couple barking at you, that would be disheartening, next time to just walk past the dogs once there out of sight continue your jogging.

I frequently encounter dogs when I go for run. Most of them get a bit excited when I run by; some of them try and keep up with me, others paw at my ankles and the really excited ones just go straight at me and jump all over me like I'm a big toy. It's always a friendly encounter, though, although one or two occasions I have been fairly apprehensive about approaching the larger dogs, especially the pit bulls or a pack of them (one bloke has about four of them). I've been 'nibbled' by smaller dogs which some might find annoying but doesn't really bother me, but I have never been properly attacked, though I'm well aware of the possibility given the number of high-profile cases there have been in recent years. If I ever was attacked by a dangerous dog I figure that I'd be able to defend myself well enough. It's those who aren't so capable that concern me.

I don't mind dogs, especially the mad ones that run up and you know are mad as a brush and want to play.  The owners are comfortable that nothing bad will happen.  What I dislike is lazy attempts at being in control and owners not apologising if a dog oversteps the mark.  This woman was more interested in eating the food she had than watching the dogs and seemed to think nothing was wrong with the first dog especially running up to me growling and barking.

It was a tough one to gauge that time, as I'd already been past once and nothing happened.

Fair enough, when letting my dog of the lead, if she does not listen to my call, i would run over to her and apologize straight away more often then not the people own there own dogs and fully understand.

This is a well used line but probably 98% true, no bad dogs just bad owners.

      I'd go along with that.
