Liverpool will travel to Reading in the third round of the Carling Cup.
The tie will take place at the Madejski Stadium on either Tuesday/Wednesday, September 25th/26th.
Liverpool played Steve Coppell's side at the same stage of the Carling Cup last season and won a seven goal thriller 4-3 at Anfield.
The Reds have won this competition a record seven times and last won it in 2003 when they beat Manchester United 2-0 at Cardiff's Millennium Stadium, thanks to goals from Steven Gerrard and Michael Owen.
LINKWell I would've liked to have drawn lower league opposition to see some of our kids get a run out in this competition, but it's not the worst draw we could've got. It'll be interesting to see Rafa's approach to the Carling Cup this season, personally I would like to see us take the Arsenal approach & put out a lot of our youngsters, but not to the extent they do, I feel there should still be a few experienced players amongst them.
