      Faith in the King
      Dec 20, 2011 08:41:00 pm
As often seems to case with Liverpool Football Club in recent years, when we take one step forward, we swiftly take another two back.

Sometimes those backward steps are our own fault, in terms of opportunities not taken, other times they are forced upon us.

As supporters, we can choose how to react in the face of adversity. In the Hicks and Gillett era, physical action was needed, as the club was tearing itself apart from within, and we cold not stand idly aside and watch it happen.

This season, we've had tricky refereeing decisions, injuries racking up for our talismanic captain, and now Luis Suarez faces a lengthy ban for alleged racism.

Not long ago, I admit I would be hitting the roof in panic, facing a dark tunnel in which the end was not in sight. Now, though, with Kenny Dalglish guiding club and fans forward, I am relieved to be able to look at the matter in a cooler manner, safe in the knowledge our (club and fans) interests will be looked after, without the slightest doubt.

We can put our faith in the King to choose the right action in difficult times - even in the hardest circumstances, Kenny is a shining light.

This Suarez thing is really going to end up fcking the rest of the league, not that we needed it but there is little doubt that club, supporters and players are going to come together on this with a common mentality. Bunker mode is in full effect and I feel sorry for those that we face...It is truly us against everyone else and I believe it will be our defining moment and that Kenny will see us all shine.

Have to agree with you there, don't feel the need to hit the panic button these days, our squad is so much stonger at the moment, losing Stevie for such a large part of the season has been difficult but we haven't missed him as much as I thought we would, with having such quality in the squad we've had players stepping up and taking more responsibility in his absence.

I have complete faith in Kenny and Steve Clarke and the rest of the backroom staff, who I believe are taking Liverpool Football Club back to the top where we belong.

Say what you will about the shithouses at the Old Toilet, but one lesson we can learn from them is how to perform with a siege mentality. Here's hoping the King can get the lads up every week for the rest of the season with an "us against the world" mentality.

If anything, I hope this awful injustice will unite the club and the players against all things not Liverpool.

I know it won't happen, but I'd love it if our players started making official complaints any time a player offended them during a game (I mean, every single one) - after all, there's a written rule against offensive language. I'd like to see how the FA would deal with all of them. It would give them a lot of work at the very least, and expose their hypocrisy.

      Great Post Ayrton.

We all needed to get our venom out but what you say is absolutely correct.

I was knocked back when I read the power of the club statement.

Helmets back on. We are in battle mode again.

I've had faith in him since the day he returned as Manager.

Kenny knows better than anyone at the Club, how and when to close ranks and this is no different.

The FA and particularly the rest of the League, will wish that they (the FA) had let the Suarez matter drop, rather than pander to the scums whims.

Siege mentality is only the tip of the iceburg - we will be soooooooo p**sed at this, teams will wonder what the hell has happened.

Bring on the world - we are Liverpool Football Club!!!!

All I will say is in times of adversity thank God we have Kenny Dalglish as our boss and not Hodgson.Kenny has shown his support for   Luis Suarez from day one and that is how it should be.It is up to us now to give Kenny, Luis and all players who wear the famous RED of Liverpool Football Club our full support.

It's comforting to know he is guiding the club in the right direction and just him being in charge is amazing.

Are you joking? No team could cope with the same XI with 4 games in 12 days. Squad rotation is essential over the Xmas period.

KK is the man and it's nice to see everyone behind the manager unlike previous seasons.

We still need to get him a stronger squad to get a stronger standing in the league. Spurs have half of our pull in terms of attractiveness ,less money and have still managed to have a stronger squad.

I trust our back room staff will get us there.

So is squad rotation essential over getting three points.. How many minutes did Carrol play against Villa?
