As often seems to case with Liverpool Football Club in recent years, when we take one step forward, we swiftly take another two back.
Sometimes those backward steps are our own fault, in terms of opportunities not taken, other times they are forced upon us.
As supporters, we can choose how to react in the face of adversity. In the Hicks and Gillett era, physical action was needed, as the club was tearing itself apart from within, and we cold not stand idly aside and watch it happen.
This season, we've had tricky refereeing decisions, injuries racking up for our talismanic captain, and now Luis Suarez faces a lengthy ban for alleged racism.
Not long ago, I admit I would be hitting the roof in panic, facing a dark tunnel in which the end was not in sight. Now, though, with Kenny Dalglish guiding club and fans forward, I am relieved to be able to look at the matter in a cooler manner, safe in the knowledge our (club and fans) interests will be looked after, without the slightest doubt.
We can put our faith in the King to choose the right action in difficult times - even in the hardest circumstances, Kenny is a shining light.
