      Di Matteo backs handshake call.

Chelsea boss Roberto Di Matteo believes the Premier League has reached a "common sense" decision regarding Sunday's handshakes with QPR.

Premier League rules require both teams to shake hands as part of the pre-match routine for all top-flight fixtures.

But the situation is complicated on Sunday when Chelsea host QPR at Stamford Bridge.
      Live on Sky Sports

Blues skipper John Terry is facing court proceedings over an allegation of racial abuse towards Anton Ferdinand in the reverse fixture at Loftus Road in October. Terry denies the charge.

The two teams have faced each other in an FA Cup tie since, for which the Football Association decided to skip the handshake rituals.

And the Premier League has reached the same conclusion - a decision which Chelsea's interim manager feels is a good one.

The PL wanted QPR to give Chelsea a guard of honour on to the pitch instead of a handshake!

A guard of honour! For the bloke whos accused of racially abusing one of their players!

      :lmao: :lmao:

Partiality towards Terry in this country is an absolute f**king disgrace. If a foreign player had done what he had in the past 2 years there would be calls for them to be deported.

The whole handshake 'ritual' is a load of old sh*te anyway.

Didn't Terry, for e.g., shake Sanchez's hand before cowardly kneeing him in the back? The handshake means F**k all, is a waste of time and serves no purpose given that no-one, with an ounce of common sense, buys into that P.R. sh*t anyhow.

      What a load of sh*t!

The FA have to be the most inconsitent, blundering and corrupt sports administration governing body in the world.

      Disgraceful.

      F***ing hypocrites.

Suarez was criticised for refusing to shake hands with his accuser, yet they abandon the handshake rictual that was so important at Old Trafford when LFC visited them.

      This is nonsense.

To be fair, Luis said he would shake Evras hand, that was why it all went ahead. If he had said he wasn't going to, I'm sure the FA would have abandoned the hand shakes then too. I think....

If they were as consistent with their inconsistency they would have backed up their racism bullshit and disciplined Luis for that as well.
