World Cup final winning goals by Liverpool players.

With all the talk of us signing Mario Goetze (and I hope we do, although I've barely seen him play I DID see him get the winner in the world cup final and he's obviously a talent) it got me thinking.

Now apologies to the younger fans, but older supporters may well be aware that Goetze would become the SECOND Liverpool player to have scored the winner in a world cup final. The previoys one didn't have a long and illustrious career in a red shirt, but nontheless he made his mark in his inimitable fashion.

Just to clarify, the player was a Liverpool player at the time he scored the World Cup winning goal for his country? I'm not sure this has happened.

I think we have the only England player to have his international career start and end in a World Cup but I can't think of us having a WC winning goal scorer.

The clue was in the date of the original question. Dave is quite right, it never actually happened

I'd been searching for that before work and thinking about it last night at work.

Thought I was going bloody mad.

I normally think most April Fools are sh*te, especially football ones, but fair play mate that was a good one.

I don't do April fools, so I'm still trying to find out who it was !!!!!!!!!
