I have watched the last few games closely and I am not in any way giving particular attention to Sturridge but somehow noticed his contribution. I'm being honest to say I am not dissapointed at all with Sturridge's performance but somewhat satisfied. Ok, I may be torched by some here, level of expectations differs among supporter, but I am just giving a fair assessment.
Ok, he did not blaze the pitch in those minutes he was on the pitch but he has taken away defenders with him and allowed others to run into space to score, not forgetting some beautiful moves and assists that led to goals scored by others.
Put it this way, there is nothing to say that he needs to score in every game but if he can come up with some vital assists that led to goals, who is to complain and he can continue to do that. Let's not look at why isn't he scoring in every game but more importantly what was his contribution on the pitch. We now have a bunch of players that can score goals.
Hope that Klopp is not hammering Sturridge for the lack of goals but provide much encouragement instead. Stur is fragile physically we all know that and to a certain extend mentally, so he will be pretty much upset and sulks when he doesn't score with the thought that he had a bad game, the opposite is true so far. So much encouragement from Klopp will help a long way and I suspect Strurridge thrives on encouragement.
Hence, I hope Sturridge will keep up the good work and continue to improve as he is a vital part of the team.
Hope that Stur is in the starting 11 or coming on as a substitute.
We must be on our toes from the very first second of the the game.
This is a winnable game and we must give Swansea the respect but not fearing them.
