Seven Days And One Week For Liverpool
      Feb 16, 2008 12:56:02 am
Confidence has to go from strength to strength now. No more messing about. It's time.

We've got a week which will draw a line in the cup competitions. But it could all hinge on a matter of days afterwards how our season ends.

Great results against Inter and we're on the march. A professional approach against Barnsley and we're rightly moving towards Wembley. Gain confidence for the league....

This is a very important time in our history, because we've really got a chance to overshadow what's happened behind the scenes for the last sickening few months. Let football be the focus...

I think we can do it.

Is this the time when our season takes it's final direction?

      Morning Kenny,

I think you have a valid point with the final push towards the end of the season and I know we can do it, we have injured players coming back into the squad now and the ownership saga seems to have settled down a little too so it's all good :)

      Come on you reds!

Yep Kenny this is it, make or break time.

I don't really think Barnsley will hold too many problems for us , or at least they shouldn't, but then again this is the FA Cup so anything could happen, but I think we are all quietly confident about tomorrow.

Tuesday is a different kettle of fish

Inter Milan, gonna be so hard, wish we were playing the first leg away from home.

I know we haven't played them in a  proper competitive match since 65, am I right in saying that ?

But we did play them in a friendly in 1998 at Anfield and we beat them 2-1, Paul Ince and Steve Harkness scoring the goals....

A good omen maybe.......lets hope so

Think positive the MIGHTY REDS are on the way back,Barnsley will not know what has hit them, and Inter Milan will get the fright of their lives,In 1965 the F.A.Cup was carried around the ground by Gerry Byrne and Gordon Milne and this really livened the crowd up.I would like to see RAFA have our European Cup paraded round the ground by 2 of our ex players say Tommy Smith and Ray Kennedy B4 kick off ,imagine the noise the ground would erupt.I mentioned those 2 players but any of our ex greats would achieve the same result.

I have to agree with the above and Paulrobbo's comment !
I was 4 in 1965 but have read many times of the parade of the F.A.Cup around Anfield on the night of this game by Gerry and Gordon from players autobiographies and it brings a tingle to the spine ! :champ:

It's a massive week for us, and it'll shape our season definitley, but I think it'll have a much bigger impact on the look of our team come the beginning of next season!

Success this season will make it a little easier for all of the stuff going on in the background to settle and for Rafa to carry on with his march to the Premiership!

Let's start by hammering Barnsley! Send a message to Inter! We're ready for them! ;)

The past few weeks / months have left us all a bit deflated. Our great club has been dragged through a media circus by the 2 clowns in control. The manager and players have been a shadow of themselves and the results have reflected this. If ever there was a time to let the football do the talking it's right here, right now.

The prestige of the 2 greatest knock out competitions in the world and our destiny in them is there for the taking. This is our chance to finally turn the corner and, on the back of a decent performance against Chelsea, we should. That should be a marker for the rest of the season and we should push on from there. Touch that Liver bird on our chests with pride, determination, passion and conviction... make us dream...

      Let your dreams take you...
to the corners of your smiles,
to the highest of your hopes,
to the depths of your soul
and to the most special places
      your heart has ever known.

It's a terrible result, let's not bullshit ourselves but there's nothing we can do about the Barnsley result now, let's just shut it out of our heads and focus on Tuesday!

Come on you redmen! Let's do them on Tuesday and get our sh*t together!
