I think it is a little unfair to have a dig at the Police. If the pr**k who Carra assaulted reports the matter the Police are obliged to record it as an asault and having recorded it will need to interview Carra.
The fact that Carra recieved a caution means that is accepts his guilt and as such admitted to assaulting the other party.
Had Carra denied the assault he would be lining himself up for a court appearance which the press would have loved and all the detail of the assault would have been in the public domain.
Whatever legal advice Carra took he made the right decision in accepting a caution, though it amounts to a conviction and means he will have a criminal record.
The Police would have loved to have told the 'victim' to F**k off and fight your own battles but in this country the Police have to ethically record every crime when there is evidence that a crime has been committed.
The Police do not recieve commission as somebody has suggested on this thread and if the shoe was on the other foot they would have dealt positively had Carra reported an incident.
Carra should put this experience behind him and look forward to the match against Bolton on Sunday, the tosser who reported the assault can enjoy his short lived fame and return to a life of obscurity.
Let's put this thread to bed and get behind the team.
