I suppose I should be passing comment on Chelsea's slim win over Rafa the Faffer's Liverpool.

Benitez is making a right Ranieri of it at the moment. Gerrard went from right-wing to left-wing quicker than David Cameron.

Whatever you do, Stevie, don't go in goal during training or you’ll be stuck there for keeps.

I suppose too that I should mention Arsenal's fine 1-0 win away to a sloppy Man U. But you know what? I'm still bloody well fuming about Ashley Cole's claims his loyalty to Arsenal went unrewarded.

This is a kid who was plunged into the first team before his first shave, a lad who, it seemed, was having unusual Chelsea chit-chats in fancy restaurants.

According to Cashley, while Arsenal sent a box of Terry's All Gold and a single rose to Thierry Henry every day, he was given nothing!

But wait. Henry is a footballing God and you are a left-back. He's va-va-voom and you're va-va-very good - for a left-back. So let's hear no more about it.

Cole also slags off the young Arsenal foreign legion as a bunch of lazy good-for-nothings who get a nice London apartment and think they're it.

But aren't these lazy oiks he describes the same ones who gave the crocked Cole a chance of winning the Champions league last May?

The ones he sat and watched keep seven clean sheets in a row? Hmmm.

Of course, it's not Ash's fault if a Securicor van is needed to deliver a footballer's weekly wage these days.

The agents are squeezing every last penny out of football and damn the consequences.

But we shouldn't think that Cole is the only boil on the backside of the beautiful game. No, that particular rear is covered with unsightly blemishes.

Rooney's after more cash, they tell me. Ballack says the cost of living is so high in London he's forced to rent. I expect you're barely scraping by on 130k a week, son.

It's not that long ago you could go down a local boozer and tell a professional footballer what you thought of him over a pint and a game of shove ha'penny.

If you wanted to do that these days you'd have to disguise yourself as a little temptress in order to sneak into the VIP areas of the local nightclub.

Where are the one-club men these days, eh? Terry, Gerrard... funny how they're the ones we respect.

These days the one club men and women are us, you and me, the fans, the ones who are paying these lads' wages.

But can you really expect these short-sighted dullards and those who look after them to be anything other than greedy when the FA pay a philandering Scandinavian £5m a year to be crap at his job - and then keep paying the useless twit even after they've got shot of him?

I've got two words for football. WAGE CAP. Starting with Eriksson and Barwick. Then Cole, just to be spiteful to the ungrateful little so-and-so.

cole is a money-grabbing scumbag. I was listening to talksport yesterday and they were discussing the Ashle Cole saga and it seems he said that arsenal had given him a VERBAL guarantee of a new contract worth £60,000 pw butwhen he was only offered £55,000 pw he turned it down because of what he calls 'the principal'.

It's a hard life. Nobhead
