Im not thinking about losing just yet. Losing is not in my mind, I felt unusually calm after being whipped 3-1 here. I definitely have faith, I definitely have the belief coursing though me. I believe we can do it, we can pull it off. Many a time it has happened, we did them. The tie is not finished until its over. I admit we have made it very difficult for ourselves, But we're Liverpool. So what is there to fear against a team with no history? I admit we deserved to lose tonight. But if they can score 3 goals at Anfield, why is EVERYONE writing us off now? We can do the same. Its in our heads. Its in our hands. Complacency will definitely creep it. I felt it from Cech, well, but right now, its only half time. We're not out and down.
If we can do it in Istanbul with the toughest defence in the world with Nesta and Maldini at their peak of their powers, then why cant we do it against the meekiest defence with only Ivanovic and Alex? If we can whip manure's 7 point lead to just 1, if we can whip them 4-1 at old trafford, if we can whip Villa 5-0 at home, if we can whip Real 4-0 at home. I dont see why we cant do it again.
Make no mistake, its a tall order. But this is what champions have to do through, we've got to have our resolve tested against if we are to make it. Everyone wrote us off in 2005. Everyone said game over when we were 1-0 down against Olympakios at Anfield. Andy Gray said 'Game well and truly over' in Istanbul. BBC, Soccernet now go on about how Chelsea have virtually secured their place.
But make no mistake, we've got the mettle. We've got the courage. We have no pressure, because everyone will expect us to lose. We have no fear. The pressure, now, its on Chelsea at the Bridge. And right now, its gonna be a tall order. But I believe, we all believe. And let the kop sing, let the goals flow, lead the Reds to Rome.
On to you, Liverpool.
