      Rafa eyeing Raul
      Jan 15, 2007 12:27:19 pm
I saw a column in the paper today saying rafa is looking at Raul.  Well I hope not!! I feel another Morientes moment coming on if this is the case. ::)

I saw this also on Teamtalk I think.  I hope not, he has had his time. Would rather us go for another younger pacy centreforward. 5 years ago maybe but not now.

Couldn't agree more,he has hardly been setting La liga alight lately.
And i also got a sense of de ja vu over him and Morientes, but i think we can sleep safely as the rumours been put to bed
it seems Raul wants to"finish his career at Madrid" i for one thought he already had.

He tried, he failed at club. Best to let him move on and let us as a club do the same. Rafa doesn't fancy him and I go along with his view. Only for it was a done deal before Rafa came on board, the deal would never have gone through but he did give him his chances. Bye Djib

Welcome edu rbb, personally I'd say no to Raul.
We do not need players who only want to come and finish there careers over here, if they want to play in the Prem, then do it in there prime.
Credit though to him, he has stated he wants to stay at Real,   papers talking up gossip again.

Maybe he could do a reverse Morientes?

sh*t in Spain - great in England?

Agree.  He's made his money, played for his country and played for 'his local club' at Madrid.  No way he could have the same enthusiasm for us.  Too lightweight for the Premiership.

Raul no longer motivates itself like before, he has already made enough money and he hopes to beat I complete blow before retiring

Absolutly, I'm french native and appreciate what cisse is doing for France but I'm also a liverpool fan and Cisse in LFC is non non non...Not a single effort of defensive work, Cisse is talented but he is a drama-queen, Marseille is perfect for him, he is already THE star over there and surely will want to stay at the end of the season. Marseille won't have the choice but to pay for him, RAFA knows that and he'll make sure to get the maximum.

We need a strong forwards, someone like Yakubu..that kind of physical stature..Crouch is doing well but he is too light to cause problems in a physical game....like chelsea..

Totally agree Cy - Crouch is 6ft7 and can't head a ball!! Too lightweight.  Like I said in another post, we haven't had a 20 goal a season striker since Michael Owen, and if we don't find another, then we'll find it hard going keeping up with the 'other two'. We need to do more from the Academy - we haven't produced talented youngsters since Stevie G, and how old is he now???

I disagree with Crouchie's critics, every game he plays, I like him more. Changes games, sets things up and is our top scorer this season, of which half it was on the bench.

Amazing the way I'm posting about Crouchie on a Raul speculation thread.  :-X

raul 5-10 years go yes! but a no now
ciise.....who ???   he was ok, but rafa will never bring him back
and crouch  ::) s.w.p could beat him to a header ;D but at the end of the day, he's doing what he's paid for, score goals.
i have to admit i criticise him at work alot about not being able to control ball to feet passes and stumbling over his boot laces, sorry their not his laces, their his legs. but then somehow he scores  :confused-smiley-013:
what ever happened about the talk of signing david villa, i see moron wanted to sign him this week but chelski board wouldnt fund it ;D ;D ;D
