Hit
2. Johnson - don't think we overpaid because of the market, but he's played well and would be playing even better without injuries
8. Gerrard - no explanation needed
9. Torres - Does he ever miss? Think about it: how many times have you seen him miss, compared to the amount of shots-on-goal he has....
11. Riera - I like Riera, he gave us a lot of new options last year, but he only has one foot although he's progressing with the other
15. Benayoun - crafty Israeli, I think he's done more this season than anyone realizes and we'll be feeling it when he's gone
18. Kuyt - works tirelessly for the club, and up until now, he's had little reason to be doubted by fans. He'll come around, things just aren't going the way he wants right now
21. Lucas - We got Lucas for a really good price, and he is young. If he develops into a good player, we can either keep him or sell him and make a huge profit - that alone is why I think he's a hit
22. Insua - same with Lucas, he's young, 22, some day he will be a great defender, and I certainly don't want it to be somewhere else. Insua's been thrust into a situation where he holds a lot of responsibility, and I think he's done well when you look at his experience, and how relatively quick he's adapted for a defender. Yes, now he has to tweek his game more because he's playing more and that makes it easier for teams to dissect his weakness.
23. Carragher - no explanation needed
24. Ngog - he needs to build muscle, if that boy was on my team, he'd be in the weight room at least twice a week, probably three times. But we got him cheap, and he's young, he's got good instincts. He just needs to be developed, but every time he plays you can tell there's a desire there to play well for Liverpool. Sometimes he just gets nervous, but being able to keep a cool head, and make the right decision will come over time.
25. Reina - no explanation needed, Saturday was just extra proof
Undecided
4. Aquilani - again, another one who needs to hit the weight room. You can't be a scrawny little thing and expect to do well in this league. Especially, because when a lot of players aren't playing well, they can at least depend on their fitness and strength to at least carry them for awhile. Aquilani doesn't have that option
12. Aurelio - simply because he has the greatest name in football, but other than that, I think that Aurelio is a perfect example of mid-level player. I mean, he shows flashes of brilliance, and is overall generally reliable to get good crosses in, but he has no short of a few times left us all shaking our head.
16. Kyrgiakos - I think he got off to a slow start, a lot of adjusting had to be made, I mean, he's an older guy coming to a much faster, competitive league then he had known. I think that Saturday we saw the defender that Rafa was hoping we'd see a bit earlier in the season. So hopefully, he's finally adjusted, but it's too soon to tell.
17. Rodriguez - too soon to tell, I think he'll be fine if he adjusts quickly, and he was freeeeeeeeee
5. Agger - Daniel Agger was once the next big thing among defenders, but after a few injuries, we're all scratching our heads wondering where the Danny of old has gone. He just seems to be having more difficulty with the position these days, man marking, headers, etc. I'd like to see him turn in around, and I have faith that he will in the coming weeks
27. Degen - looks like he's really starting to grow into himself. He's got a lot of heart to recover from all those injuries and still have such a strong desire to play. I feel like there are big things for him in the future, and I hope that it's with us
34. Kelly - he looked good for us earlier this year, and to be honest, if he weren't injured now, he'd probably have a good shot at getting in the team. I'd love to see more of this kid, he's got heart, and being a scouser doesn't hurt either
37. Skrtel - started off so strongly with what he did last season, but his head is in an entirely different world completely this year. I mean, his marking, heading, clearing, where to start? The potential is definitely there, I just think his game needs tweeking. I'm confident he'll come good though.
47. Pacheco, 32. Darby, 31. El Zhar, 40. Ayala, 26. Spearing - these are the young kids, they've had some bright spots and since we have no money to bring in new talent, these are the players that we need to develop
20. Mascherano - defensively, he's solid, but he give you absolutely nothing in attack and this season that has proven to be a huge issue. Not to mention, his heads been toward Barca since he arrived at Anfield. I like Masch, he's got heart, but who knows if we'll see him next season.
Miss
19. Babel - he's got a terrible attitude. Sometimes you tolerate terrible attitudes with players if they're great players, but Babels only all right most of the time, and sometimes that's not even the case. He's got no reason to bi*ch and whine the way he has been over the past year. He keeps reiterating how good he is, and how he should play. I say one simple thing to all that crap. Shut up and show it on the pitch. Your play will speak for itself, and so far it hasn't. I think the fact that Babel even plays at all shows how weak our squad depth really is, because after his twitter raids, I wouldn't want this kid anywhere near the locker room. Babel's 23, he wont be a 'young' player for too much longer if he hasn't grown out of it already.
