      Sin Bin 2010 World Cup.
      Oct 08, 2009 06:29:14 am
FIFA Vice President wants to see Sin Bins intrduced in next years World Cup,Jack Warner believes it may discourage diving and other offences that take place on the field.
So are we going to see a player who dives get a yellow and then sent to side for 10 mins,is it a good thing in my opinion Yes! because it's more to frequent now in the game.
I would like to know if you agree or disagree ?.

Interesting idea.  You might end up with a few five-a-side games though!

Sounds a sh*t idea IMO, when i play five-a-side it really doesn't help.
A 'sin-bin' should no way come into play in 11-a-side, it just wouldn't seem right.  :-\

This would be a massive mistake.

It would mean teams being ultra cautious for that 10 minute spell when they are down to 10 or less men and could create more play acting with teams trying to get other players sin binned. Its hard enough to tell in full motion sometimes and even on replays the opinions can differ.

The one thing they need to do is introduce cameras on the goal line to tell if the whole ball has crossed the line and thats it.

None of this 5 referee bullsh1t, or video evidence for penalties....keep our game flowing and stop trying to turn it into something else.

Maybe it should be tried in a smaller competition but not in the world cup but i do not think it would be a good idea.Something needs to be done about the play acting of players but i do not think this is the solution.

      Seems kind of pointless really.

We already have the '2 bookings and you're off' rule so that's kind of a virtual sin bin in itself and the possibility of a red card for a player who is already on a yellow is a far better deterrent than getting sent for a 10 minute sit down.

      Silly, silly idea.

You get a 10 minute break for breaking the rules. So while your opponents (and team mates) are working their bollocks off, you get to re-engerise.

      "Ah boss, I'm feeling knackered"
"Go hack somebody down and go in the sin bin for 10 minutes then"
      "Ah good idea"

Think of the time added on for the player going off and then he comes back on and scores in time added on.That was a good break ay!.

I think maybe the law should be that the match can be reviewed afterwards and if you've been caught diving and the ref missed it they can still card you.

This sin bin would be a silly idea. If you want to stop diving and cheating, should be stricter rules like getting card right away. Even if the ref has missed it, they should be allow to make decisions after watching the replays.

I don't know a hell of a lot about rugby but when you get sent to the sin bin I think you basically just sit on a chair on the sidelines?

Yeah when you have to sit on the bench/on the sidelines for an alotted amount of time, not sure how long it is though.

      Guessing around 10-15 minutes?

I agree with the yellow card idea for diving. To be honest I dont think we can trust referees to get this right, I have seen a few yellows even given for diving and the replay showed afterwards it was significant contact.

Most of the actual dives get missed by referees who mistakenly give the diver a free kick.

The best option is for the videos to be used after the game to establish whether a player dived without contact, and if proven guilty byond any doubt a severe several match penalty to be enforced.

      sh*t idea.

Just bring in a video ref, it's not going to harm the game at all. It's time they stopped being such technophobes and just accepted that video reviewing is the only way to crack down on diving, none of this rubbish sin bin bollocks.

It works in some sports, but not in football.

Sin bins would ruin football for good and why try it out on the biggest stage in international football?

I mean whats a matter with the current rules, sure you get a few drivers here and there but your always going to get that happening...also when there are protest did the ball go over the line or not?

Whats the point in having some guy behind the net to check if the ball went in or not I think it is better having this type of controversary

Say no to sin bins :romanjury:
