Said he was fond of Liverpool and Rafa when we were apparently looking to sign him. Nice man.

But then Landan Donovan has got a rep over there and he's hardly setting the PL alight so I'm sure Raul may still have something to offer a US team.

I honestly thought he would be have gone through his career with just the one club.

It's funny though because when a player leaves a European side to go to either the US or AUS then it is regarded as a way of a player to 'stay loyal' to their original club.

I don't think that's true at all. More accurately, they're lucky enough to be doing something they love and be paid handsomely for it.

To be fair to Raul, he has been a faithful servant and I don't think anyone would look down on him for leaving.
