Good Gord! New Middlesbrough boss Strachan reveals nine transfer targets as fans spy his 'secret' shopping list
New Boro boss Gordon Strachan arrived with an extensive wish-list to maintain the club’s charge back to the Barclays Premier League.
When he arrived at the Riverside Stadium to be greeted by Boro fans, Strachan was pictured carrying a team-sheet of prospective new signings.
Several supporters saw Strachan’s secret list, which included Arsenal midfield ace Jack Wilshere and Manchester United striker Federico Macheda, who could both be available on loan.

GORDON'S SHOPPING LIST
Kyle Naughton (Spurs)
Andy Griffin (Stoke)
Marc Albrighton (Aston Villa)
Isaiah Osbourne (Aston Villa)
Jack Wilshere (Arsenal)
Hayden Mullins (Portsmouth)
Kevin Phillips (Birmingham)
Chris Iwelumo (Wolves)
Federico Macheda (Man Utd)
The only four positions not covered were keeper Brad Jones, the two central defenders — currently David Wheater and on-loan Preston and Republic of Ireland defender Sean St Ledger — and winger Adam Johnson, whose form has alerted Everton boss "The Chosen One", Sunderland’s Steve Bruce and Wigan’s Roberto Martinez.
Although only the second names were written down , Sportsmail can reveal the full backs are Spurs’ £5m Kyle Naughton and Andy Griffin, Stoke’s ex-captain.
The midfield has Aston Villa youngsters Marc Albrighton and Isaiah Osbourne as well as Wilshere and Portsmouth’ s Hayden Mullins. Three names earmarked for the front two are Birmingham veteran Kevin Phillips and Chris Iwelumo of Wolves, along with Macheda.
The list shows Strachan has recognised the need to bring in experience and Premier League quality. The former Celtic boss, who has signed a four-year deal following Gareth Southgate’s shock sacking a week ago, said he had been travelling the world with wife Lesley during his five-month break from the game.
But when Gibson and chief executive Keith Lamb made contact three weeks ago, he decided the club and the time were right.
