      Old Match Day Programmes
      Feb 24, 2010 09:01:15 pm
One of my mates has just given me an old Liverpool v Barnsley programme for a League Cup game at Anfield.

      Tuesday 12th January 1982 7.30pm k.o

      Starting line up

      1     Grobbelaar
      2     Neal
      3     Kennedy
      4     Thompson
      5     Hansen
      6     Lawrenson
      7     Dalglish
      8     Whelan
      9     Rush
      10   McDermott
      11   Souness (Capt)

What a team we had, those names still give me goosebumps and some brilliant memories to read up.  I will post some pics later.

He thinks it was a draw but can anyone confirm the score.

      I've got them through the 80's, 70's, 60's and 50's I think.

Those ones were the best though, with the page where they talked about games from years ago. Was it one half Paisley's game to talk about and the other Kenny's? That was a great place to learn about LFC.

      Aaah, Crown Paints.

Should never leave your programmes in the loft mate. The changes in temperature ruin them. Put them in files and nurture them like you would your own children. My programmes are part of the family.

Interesting lineup - five defenders and every one of them would be light years better than anyone we currently employ.

I was at that game Debs ! wasn't it terribly foggy ? I seem to remember being stuck on the motorway stationary for a while we didn't get there until about 8-45pm due to a puncture !
