The Importance of Hair in a Successful Liverpool Career
      Jan 25, 2012 08:47:37 pm
To lighten the mood after recent doom and gloom, was wondering (very tongue in cheek) how important hair length was in relation to success for Liverpool players.

There are plenty of examples on underachieving long-haired players, Carroll being the most recent.

But with Poulsen being another dreadful failure, and players like Lucas turning from Kop boo-boy to player of the season after getting a cut, is there any truth in it? ;)

Even Glen Johnson's defending skills seem better once he got rid of the dreaded dreadlocks, surely it can't be a coincidence?

Are there any players that have succeeded in the face of this hard evidence?

Pro-hair, Craig Johnston is one that springs to mind. Cases could be made for Berger and Baros, who if he wasn't there to get out of the way, we might not even have five European Cups!

Your forgetting Torres. Best in the world with his blonde lockes but absolutely hopeless when he shaved it all off.

Not forgetting: leaving room for discussion! ;)

But was his hair really that long?

It never reached his shoulders, maybe we're reaching the crux of the problem!

Did you have a perm in 78?

Keegan did. Was he better or worse?

I think all of Roy Hodgson's signings should be stricken from the analysis.

But back to the topic - Luis Garcia.  How long was his hair when he took the various hair clips out?

Kewell showed some sort of form when he cut his hair. Although me hopping around on one leg would produce an improvement on the sh*te he showed when he joined.

Apparently, before he had his transplant rooneys pyabs went down to his knees and now he's only left with a skin-ball.

Might explain his dip in form?

Sinama Pongolle got better when he had a trim.

We did have a bit of a "Skin Head culture" last season

      Reina
      Johnson
      Skrtel
      Agger
      Konchesky
      Meireles
      Cole
      Jovanovic (Was Balding Badly)
      Babel
      Spearing
      Ngog.... the list goes on...

      That formation would never work.
