If Manure/Aresnal/Spurs finish Prem season in Top 4 and 1 of them win Champions League, does team that ends up 5th qualify for Champions League the following season?

And also.. Is it true that if Chelski finished outside the top 4 but won the ECL they'd bump the 4th finish team into Europa?

If the winner of this years CL don't finish in the automatic qualifying places in their respective league then yes they go through to the CL and the final qualifying team drops into the EL.

This is the same whether there are 2, 3 or 4 CL qualifying places available in that league.

I'm guessing this will get moved to general football!!!

First answer: No, I don't think so.  No country is allowed more than 4 teams in the CL.

Second answer: Yes, the winners go back into the CL if they finish outside the top 4, bumping the team in 4th place in the league to the Europa.

From the UEFA website with my addition in italics for explanation

The UEFA Champions League title-holder is guaranteed a place in the group
stage even if it does not qualify for the competition through its domestic
      championship.
      a) If the title-holder comes from an association entitled to more than one
place in the UEFA Champions League and qualifies for the UEFA Cup
through its domestic competitions, the lowest-ranked club of the
associationā€™s UEFA Champions League representatives is automatically
transferred to the UEFA Cup. In this case, the number of places to which
the title-holder's national association is entitled in the UEFA Champions
League and the UEFA Cup does not change.
(So if we finish 4th and the Chavs finish 5th but win the CL we would go into the Europa)
      b) If the title-holder comes from an association entitled to more than one
place in the UEFA Champions League and does not qualify for the UEFA
Champions League or UEFA Cup through its domestic competitions, the
lowest-ranked club of the associationā€™s UEFA Champions League
representatives is automatically transferred to the UEFA Cup. In this
case, the national association of the title-holder is entitled to one
additional place in the UEFA Cup.
(So if we finish 4th and the chavs finish 8th but win the CL we would go into the Europa and there would be a further Europa place for England)

Thank you everybody, clear to me now. ( I posted in Kop originally because I was checking on Liverpool, hoping if they got 5th place, I'd be happy to cheer for manure et al to win CL. Ah well..)

I think what you are trying to say never actually happened.  The bitters did play a CL qualifier, against Villarreal (? possibly), but they were knocked out at that stage.  We entered the CL at round one as winners, and because we finished 5th.

I recall at the time, the rules were more or less the same, but it was down to the FA to decide.  The FA I seem to remember backed Everton being in the CL and not us although I may have remembered wrong, and the FA said it was for UEFA to decide what to do (i.e. they bottled it).

As I recall UEFA said you have 4 places it's down to you how you allocate them and the FA (bottling it as you say) went back and said it's down to you to make special arrangements for your holders.
Ironically before it was sorted TNS offered to play us in a one off winner takes the spoils for their place in the competition. Of course we ended up in the 1st qualifying round and drew them anyway.
