Seems to me that a statement of intentent was letting sulky tw*t go and getting carrol saurez in,most owners/chairmen would of sat on that sort of wedge till the summer so fair play to the owners for that.

But i agree with most on this thread that if we can get in 4/5 quality hungry players maybe more ,ship a few out ,then happy days.

Oh and lets get players in we need in right positions.round pegs round holes please.

Some good and valid points, but one person picked up on what I had in mind. I am sick of every transfer window the Gerrard to Chelsea, Pepe to United rumours. About time they started to worry about us coming in for their star players rather than ours.
That wouldn't worry them right now. We aren't capable of attracting any star players from United, Chelsea or Arsenal right now. Not that I'd want to. We've seen with the Torres deal how well it could turn out for the opposite side. If we want to worry other top teams and stop them from taking players then we simply have to perform better and start winning titles again.

I might get ripped for this but as we stand right now, bearing in mind we are building for the future not just for a one off glory season and also we seem to have a squad who enjoy playing with each other and have some spirit about them just who from any of those teams would we want? Think I'd narrow it down to Fabregas or Wilshire, Luiz  and maybe Smalling and Hernandez. Now if you think that all three of them would snap our hands off for Reina, Carroll, Suarez and possibly Gerrard Johnson and Mireles as well, who is in the better place?
