Haha! Have you read his book? It's one of the best football autobiographies I've read ... but basically he lied about his right to play for Ireland. He was never eligable to represent them!!

Even aside from the evolution of the term Holocaust to refer to a specific event, as far as I know... Traore was not being consumed by fire, nor were the Mancs taking part in any kind mass slaughter or destruction of life.

Which is pretty much how most people would describe Arsenal's total capitulation in that game. It was one of the most one-sided matches I have ever seen. This thread sort of reminds me of things like why teachers now have to use the term 'chalkboard' instead of 'blackboard' ... saying that certain words should never be used because they might cause offence to some people is a very slippery slope and is a sure way to lead to dull, boring 'pundits' who only ever say safe, obvious things because they are terrified of the consequences!

You claimed that people should read the dictionary definition of the term.  I know what the dictionary definition is.  Clearly you did not, prior to my informing you that the reality of the situation bore no relation to the definition of the term. No, couldn't be arsed, only read a few autobiographies and most of them are Liverpool players, with Dalglish's and Tommy Smith's being about the best.
