      Finding a job in Australia
      Nov 19, 2011 12:37:36 pm
      Hi,

As we have a lot of international reds, there should also be a few of Australia. My dream is to migrate to Australia, but getting a visum is not that easy. I currently work in Belgium as an SAP Business Intelligence consultant, which makes that I passed the new skilled visa points test. The next step is to find a job there. Are there any fellow reds from Australia that work in the same business as me or do have any idea about how to find jobs for foreigners?

      Kind regards,
      Tom

Your going to want to get in contact with businesses in your field before you get here mate. I'd say once your Visa is applied, get on the internet and phone/email around. Tough walking in to a job at a firm, especially if your from overseas having no history of business work in Australia.

So my advice is to sell yourself and see what response you get. The cost of living here will be a shock to you if you don't plan ahead.

      Indeed. I suppose I have 3 options:

      • Find me a company in Australia that wants to sponsor my VISA and so be sure to have a job at arrival
      • Arrange me a VISA, then find me a company that wants to hire me and so be sure to hav a job at arrival
      • Arrange me a VISA, go to Australia en then search for a company, but this could get quite expensive if I cannot find a job soon

Or you start a new business there, and also hire me so we can both emigrate to Australia! ;D Only kidding mate, best of luck, hope you make it.
