Year in year out it's the same Arsenal, banging in a bagful of goals in the early stage and deflated at a later stage.
Quite often they start horribly too, and actually finish strongly to secure fourth ahead of the chasing pack. They did the same last year.
This time the Ozil effect seemed to create a much stronger belief in the early stages, but I think his downturn in form, and the very painful loss of Ramsey - who was outstanding until his injury - have hit them hard. Plus the lack of any attacking support for Giroud.
I was at the Emirates for that 2-0 defeat and they looked light years ahead of us and it was the first time I thought they could genuinely challenge for quite some time.
I don't think there's all that much wrong, because if they buy a top striker and also a proper leader of men to hold in midfield, they are a very decent side.
Having said that, we've been saying that for the last 10 years.
