I don't dispute that they are capable of two games a week. The problem is that they will be facing Premier League teams who either a) aren't playing two games a week or b) have larger squads who have more fresh players available.
No matter how good your players are there is a sizeable advantage in playing less often.
I don't think so. This season, we've had 3 games in 8 days, scored 12 goals and won the lot. We also had a 15 day break for a game and only got a point.
People believe it was an advantage to not be in Europe this season. They're not as quick to believe it was an advantage when we finished 7th without it, in 2012.
The schedule is the schedule, and it's our responsibility to have the resources in place to cope. We'll have more games next year, we'll also have a bigger squad, so having a bigger schedule should not be a major issue.
I do believe that the last game next year will be away, so I hope that we achieve whatever we want before then, as going away on the last day needing a result is not ideal.
