This is a trophy that we can win and should put out a very strong side to compete against Chelsea.

I am sure that they will look at putting out a strong side as we know how they hate to lose to us!

Would expect to see Torres fit again and score a hat-trick!!!

Wouldn't bother playing Torres in this competition to be honest.  Especially against them bunch of thugs and divers. Would either injure him or manage to get him sent off.

Nah, save Torres for the Premiership.

And I would continue the policy of playing the kids for vital first team experience.

This will be another game where they'll be a mixture of youth and expierence playing. We'll see if rafa is taken this competion seriously by his line -up.

I think, as stated by someone before, it will depend if we've qualified for the CL or not   :-\

Last Premiership encounter with Chelsea last season had Crouch and Pennant scoring in the (2-0) win (If I remember it right). I look forward to another win in this match.

Looks like it will be, the following was quoted from the first selling arrangements for the Cardiff game:

Priority for future home matches of the Carling Cup will be given to Season Ticket Holders and Fancard Holders who have purchased tickets for the earlier home matches.

They'll probably beat us because knowing them they are going to field one of their strongest teams while we'll field players who are very young.

I agree Ra Ra Rafa that Chelsea do tend to field their strongest teams in cup competitions but I don't think it's a bad thing that the team that Rafa selects isn't the strongest first 11...if we have a first 11 anymore!

Look how well the Arsenal youth do in cup games...Liverpool should emulate that. It does wonders for developing young players into regulars.

El Zhar, Leto, Lucas, Hobbs, Insua and Itandje are must starts IMO.
