His name is Victor Palsson.  His name is Victor Palsson.  His name is Victor Palsson!  ;)

      :lmao:

At just 18-years-old he is already viewed as being one of the brightest talents to emerge from Iceland in recent years.
Wow! So glad we signed him then :f_tongueincheek:

We've done well picking up Agger and Skrtel from lesser known European league's. I'm sure Benitez will have done his homework on this one too fella! ;)

What's the price? Maybe he's being brought in to replace Xabi as a means to raise funds, hope not but if he's any good, why would he want to sign for us to play in the reserves?

He's just turned 18 this week, FFS!

Like Insua, Nemeth, et al, he's been brought in to fight for a place in the first team squad. But before that, he has to compete in the reserves.

Agreed.  I think our squad is such now that the competition for places amongst the reserves line up should be exceptionally high.  Hopefully the emergence of Insua will really reinvigorate the reserve set up.

To be fair to him, he's one for the future.

I'm far more reassured for the coming years when I see Rafa investing in youth talent - our team isn't old, but no player lasts forever!

I wouldnt say Skrtel is from a lesser European league, its tough s**t playing Russia, they have some skill there in attack which would be mighty tough to defend to.

On to what i said though, saying he is one of the best talents out of Iceland is funny. I cant name an Icelandic player at all.

Better too many than too few.

He's just turned 18. He might not be ready for a couple of years, if he makes the grade. By then, who knows who'll we'll have on the books?

You can't just stop looking for talent because you're well stocked today. And if this kid turned out to be the next Gerrard, that can never hurt!

      23??!! No, that's Carra's number!

It's a training jumper, some players have different numbers on their training kits than what they wear on a match day for some reason.

Actually, they have a fair few in the UK.
Hreidarsson at Portsmouth, Gunnarsson at Reading, Steinsson at Bolton, and I think Helguson (wherever he plays) is Icelandic aswell.

Good luck to the lad. As with all our youngsters I hope he can make the step up in a few years time. Look forward to seeing him in a few reserve games this season hopefully.
