Kind of interesting reading- especially the guy comparing us to Derby.

A few points- firstly Stoke are direct but not in any way a long ball team. Sure they use Rory's throws- not every time as mentioned above but is a great weapon.

We do get the ball down and play and although unlike us we are conceding soft goals we are scoring a fair few as well.

Very disappointed we took nothing at Boro with 10 men- you were second best v them I thought and again v Everton last week. There will be no Derby this season- Is a lazy term to use as all 3 teams have won games so far, Hull two and they are the weakest of the promoted teams on paper.

We have nothing to lose tomorrow- I just hope we go there and give a decent account of ourselves. We certainly won't put 11 men behind the ball as mentioned above-we like to get Fuller running at defenders and Lawrence has already caused good defenders problems.

I think Robbie will break his duck tomorrow-Liverpool to win 3-1 and maybe, just maybe this could be your season. I can't for the life of me see anything in Kuyt though.

Nice to see an Armagh boy on this thread as well.

      Good luck after tomorrow.

Good insight into Stoke but personally I think you will come with 11 men behind the ball. That's nothing to be ashamed of because I think a lot of sides will do that at Anfield. I believe you'll play for that long throw off Rory Delap, again that's not a bad thing. That's what works for Stoke so why not use it. I hope Glenn Whealan doesn't play tomorrow because he's a creative little player who given space could cause us a problem or two. I thought he was the best player in the Championship last year when he was with Sheff Wed and was waiting a Prem team to take a punt on him.

What happened with Dom Matteo though? Why let him go? Would of been nice to see Dom back at Anfield...how is Diao thought of at the Britania?

      Crossmaglen but live in Thailand

Matteo was club captain but rarely played- don't think he's played in 2008 for us. Pulis was more keen to keep him as he claims he's so highly thought of by all at the club. Diao again is very rarely in the team- came on loan from 'Pool and did well but done little since. Glenn Whelan hasn't pulled up any trees and was dropped after the Bolton game-will be on the bench tomorrow.

Olofinjana came in from Wolves and has done very well-scored a beauty v Everton last week. Tom Soares who has been excellent for Palace and the U21s another newbie but yet to feature.

Kitson will play behind Fuller but no way we'll put 11 behind the ball. We are nicknamed the Harlem Stoke-Trotters by the press due to the size of our players but but if you expect us just to punt long balls you might be surprised.

Some talent from the Championship then, hope they make the grade in the Premiership. Whelan and Soares looked good last year, I remember looking at Soares in the playoffs thinking he was half decent, same with Jobi McAnuff of Watford. Matty Fryatt (Leicester) and Drew Surman (Saints) are another two lower league players I think could (should) be in the Prem.

Kitson was a good buy (believe it or not someone on another Liverpool forum wanted us to sign him) again I hope he can score the goals along with Fuller to keep Stoke up (just not tomorrow) I've been surprised with Fuller, he didn't look able to cut it at Pompey, maybe the extra few years have given him the experince he needs.

I hope you don't put 11 men behind the ball mate, we struggle to break sides down when they do that and I hope you don't thump balls into our box because our defending (especially from set pieces) often comes up short and we're reliant on a great save from Reina or a great block by Carragher.

A team with title challenging apsirations has to take three points from these kind of games.

Make no mistake, Stoke wont just roll up and die, their a physical bunch and will probably look to kick ten shades of s.hit out of us.

All that said and done, I'm fairly confident our lads will do the job even though some of them looked a little tired after the Man U/ OM games.

      I'd happily take a gritty 2-0 .

      C'mon the REDS !!!!

Was hoping to be there but have to make do with Chelsea at the Brit next week.

Fuller has been excellent so far but struggled for years with a knee injury-especially at Pompey which explains a lot. If you let him turn as Villa and Everton found out he'll cause problems.

Kitson got 10 Prem goals last season which was some going- hope he breaks his Stoke duck tomorrow.

We get every game live here so will be cheering on no doubt surrounded by Thais who are Liverpool mad.  A lot of let down Stoke fans who couldn't get tickets as we have a system where you have to attend so many games etc and we also have a police ID card system in place which has upset a few.

Every game has a cup final feel - don't get any bigger than this.

Aurelio has been ruled out so it will more than likely be Dossena startng unless Rafa decides to rotate and put Arbeloa there :D

      Quote
Rafael Benitez has today confirmed that Fabio Aurelio will miss Saturday's clash at home to Stoke City through injury.
The Brazilian full-back was ruled out of Tuesday night's Champions League victory in Marseille with a calf strain he sustained against Manchester United and is still not fit to face the Barclays Premier League newcomers tomorrow.

"Only Fabio Aurelio is out injured," said Benitez. "The rest of the squad is okay."

you prefer the Britania to the old Victoria Ground? I never went to the Victoria Ground but I was the Britania when we won 8-0 in the 2000/01 League Cup.

I've given up guessing what side Rafa is going to put out but I just hope like a lot of others, he plays our strongest side from the off. Get some nice early goals so we can sit back and hopefully enjoy a feast.

C'mon Redmen, it's game's like this last season we ended up drawing....it's time to show the rest of the league we mean serious F***ing business this season. 4-0 for me with Robbie getting on the scoresheet, Fernando as well and another Stevie double.

After three points, the second biggest thing I want from tomorrow is a Robbie Keane goal.

I like the Brit more- took us a few years to settle in- now the place is rocking. Try to forget that 8-0 drubbing and also a 7-0 by Birmingham.

I still argue if Peter Thorne hadn't missed that open goal when he rounded Peggie Arphexad (sp) we would have won ;-0

Will be a great atmosphere here in the bars- Liverpool are the Thais team and oddly a great selection of Stoke fans here. Is a football mad country and just hoping we don't capitulate.

Go easy on us- good luck fellas after today

Maybe a 4-0 win today. May be optimistic but its been a good start and I expect us to beat Stoke comfortably. Torres double, Gerrard and Keane and i'll be a happy lad. :)
