Need Help with Virus??!!!

Hi ladies and gents,

If there are any computer wizards out here I need your help. Basically two weeks ago my bogan cousing sent some sort of a virus in a zip file he told me they were photos from my Eurotrip. So i downloaded it and opened it but I realised i was screwed when the file was an.exe.

Now i seem to send files to people through MSN without even knowing I assume its the same virus. Then the other effect the virus has is that it floods my screen with symantec warning and error messages until the only thing I can do is reboot from the power botton.

My PC knowledge is non existent and I would appreciate any help or advice with at least identifying what sort of a virus this is. My Norton has expired and I can not perform live updates or scans.

AVG is a good anti-virus program for free download.

Also, you might want to change your msn password. This can be done by signing in to your hotmail account and clicking "options", then going to "account management -> password".

And turn off file sharing in MSN Messenger as well.

 after that get superantispyware again in google

I know this sounds stupid, but gotta start with the basics. Have you tried slow-scanning your computer?

Aye I have, with Spyware Dcotor (supposedly the best out there) and it doesn't pick it up. The only one That finds it is the one I don't have the full version of!.

Try an online virus-scan, find out exactly where that bugger is and shift+delete it.

Cheers for all your help guys. Well th simple file sharing turn off function has seemed to stop me spamming other people. I have bee really busy with work so have not had the chance to download some of the suggested software and tools.
