By the way it makes me feel that building a new 65/70 thousand stadium would be a disaster. It would only lead to 20 thousand more tits arriving at games and create one of the worst atmosphere arounds I would think. At least at Anfield theres a chance that an atmosphere can be made

i'm a bit late on this thread, but get to Anfield about 8 times a year.  been 3 times this year and managed to get into the kop for the first time when we played PSV.  the atmosphere was fantastic and we sang for the whole 90+ mins.  the " prem games, Boro and Portmouth were like cemetries.  i can't understand it.  i was well up for the portsmouth game after beating Chelsea, but it was so quiet.  it seemed to be a different set of fans completely.  behind me in the Annie Road, i had a family of 4 who were obviously making there first trip to Anfield, and all they did was talk through the whole game.  the mother even asked why the had changed direction after half time!!!!!!!!!!!! the daughter was mid teens and was completely bored and kept asking how much longer until the end, plus other inane questions.  the son said that he didn't mind if we lost if it was Crouch who scored for Portsmouth.  They drove me mental, plus at half time, there were foreigners all over the place taking photographs.  it seems that alot of us genuine supporters are being replaced by the day tripper/shopper instead and now we have the package trip fan as well.  this is why the atmosphere has changed.  i don't know bout the season ticket holders, but as far as i am concerned you should be vetted as to your knowledge of our club to receive one of these.  they are more precious than one of Willy Wonkers golden tickets!  My final gripe is the ultimate sin of not singing YNWA.  if you don't know the words, or do know them and don't want to sing, then piss off and support another team.  every true supporter knows our anthem, even my friends in Italy know the words to this song.  there is no excuse! despite the worsening atmosphere, i will keep going and will never stop. to me every game, whether i am at Anfield or listening on the radio or checking every minute on my mobile, is something to look forward to and can make or break my week.

X-Factor Reds or Kop Idol - it's the future!

When applying for tickets they must stand in front of a three person panel and at least sing four songs, with two being at least classics, poor scouser tommy and Liverbird Upon My Chest should suffice.

      Baggsy being Simon Cowell

Could even have a Dragons den for potential new songs!

      Excellent idea Huyton Red  ;D

When I was at the A.Madrid game last week, I was getting very frustrated at the lack of people around me not singing, in fact at one point I turned round and said in a rather loud voice "come on you miserable bas**rds, sing will you"
      I just got a blank look  :o

There was a row of young lads in front of us  in their late teens/early 20's..............not a peep hardly from them all night.

What's wrong with people  ??? One of the reasons I love going to the match is that I can have a good old sing, I can't believe that you can sit there when there are people around you singing, clapping etc and not join in............FFS what's wrong with them

I think when you first get in the ground you should say to everyone around you...............you are going to sing aren't you ? shame them into joining in.

      Are people embarrassed to sing?

I don't know what it is or what the answer is, but I get well and truly pissed off with it.

Those photo's you took JD? where they actually whilst the game was in progress? Cos I saw someone sitting eating a bag of crisps, people texting on there phones, and some looking decidedly bored.  ???

I tell you what, when I've driven 100 miles to watch my beloved Reds, paid £38 for my ticket...........I'm going there to bloody well enjoy myself, join in with ALL the singing and not leave before the final whistle, or disturb others by going out every ten mins to get a drink/something to eat/or the bloody loo, and not coming in 10 mins into the second half either  >:(

And I tell you something else as well, there is absolutely NO EXCUSE WHATSOEVER for anybody not to know the songs these days.

I can't wait for my next game. When it's just me and the bloke next to me singing I tend to shy my voice a little. Not next time. Don't give a toss about the way the prawn sarney brigade look at me anymore.

You feel such a tw*t though, DLS, not that it would put me off......I'm there to support my team, and that's what I'll do and I've normally got a very good pair of mates with me who sing as loud as me  ;)

How many times did I say to you, 'it's just not happening is it?' when we tried to start some noise? It made me feel sick at the idol lack of support at that game - especially when their fans were in full force. There was an irish lad behind me and a sourthern lad next me who joined in. Plus a scouse lad two rows down from us who was also up for it - so much so that I wanted to shake his hand when the final whistle went. But everyone else was intent on sitting there quiet and admiring the noise of their fans!! I'd have personally rather seen empty seats than some of the morons who were around us that night. At least there's an excuse then.

There's no excuse not to join in with the songs these days. Even if you don't know the words - make sure the people around you feel confident enough to join in with you making some noise for the reds.

If we want to win the league then we've got to constantly make the noise. You can't just leave it to the players. That's the message that should be on every single website, forum, fanzine, phones in's etc etc.

Next time a few from the forum get to a game I wouldn't mind tagging along. I normally sit in the main stand due to being a lanky streak of piss but I'll sit in the Kop and make some noise.

Do you/RK order the tickets and then get the money on the day or is there a way of doing it seperately and sitting together?

Think it's only two games I've been the match with MsG this season. Best bet is to link fancards mate. More of a chance 'standing' together that way, but you know what's like just trying to get a ticket anyway!

If you go the game either way, see you in the cabbage beforehand fella.  ;)

Didn't know you we're over Don.

You could have bought me that pint you owe me. ;)

      JD

I had a great time in 305 last Saturday - the bloke next to me (who I didn't know from Adam) and me were having a right sing song right through the 90 mins...

I loved that bloke to my right adding "..and Arbeloaaaaaa" to the RaRaRafa Benitez (la bamba) song too...

Loved every second of it on Saturday... if only I could travel over from Madrid to the Kop every home game!

Next time I come over I will give you a shout - I travel over with a few mates who live in Madrid (and are also members of the official LFC Madrid Branch) - we usually have a couple of pints before and after the game at The King Harry (yes that pub you should wipe your feet before....you leave!).

We're too F***ing nice to away fans as well, we need to become evil again. Brother went to Reebok yesterday and said he saw two young liverpool fans, no older than 8/10, getting escorted out with their dad behind them, having to run a gauntlet of abuse to the left of our end, all because liverpool scored.

And it's not the first time it's happended is it? Yet we sit by as we welcome away fans and let their stragglers sit in peace in home ends, no more!

Time to get real at our place now. No away fans drinking by our ground, we are a laughing stock it's been said before and i will say it again, we're too f***in nice, They hate us eh? Lets return the compliment and make them weary of ever coming to anfield again.  Stoke taking the piss, Geordies taking over the Cabbage, Everton giving it large every season? Nah, F**k that, we are Liverpool FC.

Today were a disgrace took 82 minutes before they were heard on tv. Expecting things to just happen and when it didnt got on the players backs how does that help? We have discussed this time and again so this is not a thread to talk about what can we do to improve this is a thread to show my anger towards the so called fans who are either paying a fortune to get over to a game and then sit there like a statue and to locals who love to blame non scousers on the sh*te atmosphere but do nothing about it themselves. Well f**k the lot of ye your a disgrace to this clubs history and name
