i think he's overrated. He said he'll score 30 goals this season.

He's a fairly potent goal scorer, but he's not of Liverpool calibre IMO.

i think we should go for Arashavin for 15 mill ...well worth it..... also there is talk today in The Express of Villa getting Daniel Sturrage for 4 mill.....get  on that one Rafa, and Johnson for six million (also of City), they are having a boot sale, and these are good players Rafa............. also talk of Luis Garcia going to Newcastle.

dont think we will buy anyone, is obvious we are skint if we wont even improve our contract offer to agger, we are crying out for a right midfielder, but yanks arent going to get any more money off the banks and neither of them is willing to spend there own money so its obvious there will be no transfer activity

I would like to see an extra midfielder trouble is all the good ones will not be sold in the Jan sales and did I notice Bents name being mentioned, he would never suit the way we play and if anything he would take up someone's place on the bench......

I would like a more attacking threat in our midfield. Preferably on the right hand side in a 4-2-3-1 formation. I like ricardo quaresma a lot though he has failed to break into Inter b'cos his style doesn't fit the italian game. I think he would be an excellent signing and his price tag has now fallen massively.

      Anybody remember two players?

      David Speedie and Ronny Rosenthal.

Both brought in mid-way through the season as we were making a title push, and just gave us that little bit of a life to win two titles.

I think we've missed a trick.  I'd imagine the Heskey effect will bode well for Villa.

      Just my two-pennies worth.

Any right winger who can beat a man and score a few will do me fine. no to quaresma tho to light weight and will cost loads.

Quaresma - doesn't have the attitude to be a Liverpool Football Club player. for me at least.

A signing like that is exactly what we need.

This window's a little long in the tooth now to be dreaming though.

      I agree JD.

I'm not saying it should be Javier Saviola, but maybe we needed a player like that who would chip in and push the current players' performances up as they know their position is being hunted down.

Who knows though, maybe a deal is in the works as we speak? He was left out to possibly discuss terms. I doubt it but there is a chance.

If we get anyone it will depend on where keane may go.
      Spurs? Then lennon or bentley.
Man city? No one who they'd let go of that's for sure

Bentley is OK, but i'd rather see neither Bentley nor Lennon at Liverpool.
I think there are more complete players that we can get in that position. I'm partial to Afellay (as are a few others on here).

I guess i'd rather have Bentley than Lennon, to be honest. But we'd need another striker more.
