Apple Store Mac's and iPod Sale
      Nov 28, 2008 04:51:49 pm
I was waiting for the VAT cut but Apple are running a one day sale for today only which also includes the VAT cut.  Prices will go back up from midnight.

Big savings on loads of Mac's, iPods and everything else Apple make.

Just saved around 8% on an Apple Mac (they also do the free engraving on iPods as well).

Just another note on this.  Even the final price that you will get at the checkout will be cut further.

The sale price will include 17.5% VAT but this will be reduced when you're card is charged to the 15% rate as shipping will be on or after 1st December 2008.

Happy days. More like a 10% saving then. Made up.

Them MacBook Pro's are serious bits of kit them.

I only spotted this late this afternoon.  Saved me a fair few bob and a trek to the numpty's at PC World who end up sitting you down trying to sell you £300's worth of insurance!

I'm made up. Finger crossed it arrives Monday.

Yeah. I'm already sorted on that front.

Costs me more to keep running than a Mac though.

I'm ordering a Macbook tomorrow. They've cut £30 off the price. I get 14% student discount as well. I use an iMac at college and I find it so much better than Windows. Especially for music and media software. Soon to be rid of Windows, happy days.

Rang 'em up and it's going to be an extra 3 days to put the extra memory and hardrive in. Upgrading it to 4GB RAM and 320GB Serial ATA Drive. £1,046.50 with 3 years applecare. Not bad at all. Normal price would be £1,210.

Decent yeah.  I didn't get the memory upgrade with them just because they charge more, but I suppose for a laptop then I wouldn't have wanted to put that in myself.

      Enjoy it fella.

Still getting to grips with it's differences but I'm getting there...

Should have got one sooner.  No question Smiggs.

Not unlocked the tea-making facility as of yet.  Love Front Row though.  Just everything seems to run so much better. Skype, Photoshop etc.

And as for how you install stuff.  I just can't believe how simple and straightforward it is... just hugely impressive.  Expensive - yeah - but it just works like it should.

Glad you like the Mac JD, true multi tasking.

Have you got VMWare yet and loaded a windows virtual desktop. Use all your windows software like it was designed and take snapshots of the desktop so if it crashes you can rewind in seconds.

I bet you wished you had a Mac years ago, I certainly do.

VMWare? I'll keep an eye out for it.

To be honest - the only thing I am missing from Windows is Live Messenger, and in any case I've got Skype so my Windows contacts are just going to have to change if they want to get hold of me!

Good shout on the Messenger thing - it does work on the Mac - although to be honest I prefer Skype anyway so may just ditch it.

Been two weeks of pure plain sailing.  I wish I had got one erm... 10 years ago?

I've managed to order myself a Macbook Pro after years of going on about it.  Same kind of deal.  With the missus working in a school I've got a similar deal plus I get a free iPod.  I already have the phone so I decided to get that 120Gb iPod so I can stick all my tunes on.

Being a geek I'm obviously excited.  The specs are actually better than my desktop Mac so I've got a boss excuse now to do my work sitting in the sunshine.
