Well, the worrying thing is, we could have had the same results last season and still would have missed out. City will have gotten just shy of 200 points in 2 seasons, that’s ridiculous, they will probably do the same again next season so it’s again going to take something incredibly special next season. The bar of points to win this league went to a new high last season and could easily stay around that marker for the next few seasons. It would be nice to walk the league like City did last season.

Though on the flip side, I think City being right there with us has made us a better team, we’ve learnt how to handle the pressure. A few years ago, imagine how easily we would have lost our nerve playing after City have gotten their win. Even back to the early part of 2019 when we were playing before City, we were holding our nerve, getting the wins and piling the pressure straight back onto City. One hell of a title race and it’s probably the 2 strongest teams the league has ever seen.

I'm loving it and the form in the European Cup only adds to it as many wouldn't have thought we could have kept the pace in both.

City's imminent transfer ban (hopefully) should give us an advantage. Let's hope we make the right signings to make it count.

Playing after City should not affect our results, and to date, they're not. We have our own job to do.

While the points totals of us and City are higher than normal, I do think the points totals are dictated by the fact so many clubs set out against us and the top 6 with no ambition, bar keep the scoreline respectable.

I’m trying to park the thought of City and just enjoy us for what we are, which is the best Liverpool team I’ve ever seen.

And competing with a machine like City, whether we win the title or not, is only good for our development. We don’t look nervy at all these days, it’s as if that pressure has been lifted and we just go out and perform, again and again.
