Nicky Allt - One Night in Istanbul, Empire Theatre 9th July 2009

Sound. Just got up now. Didn't get in til 5am! You allright mate? It was funny that last night!

Sound, had to get a taxi home cos there's no nightbuses on a Friday night, shows you the last time I was out in town on a Friday. Head hit the pillow as soon as I got in.

Was sat in bed earlier watching the Istanbul DVD

We ended up in the friggin Krazy House! Followed by pizza.

It was 'kin roasting in The Empire last night though wasn't it?

Good play - enjoyed it.  Phil Thompson was one of the fellas with the European Cups last night.

If there are still tickets left then I'd recommend people make an effort to get to it.  I think it runs till next Saturday?

All three floors mate. We were looking for some 80's cheese!

Absolutely brilliant that play was last night. All roles played brilliantly by the actors and as Huyton Red said, loads of scouse humour. Great to see Darran Farley having a part in it. Good to see the Pete Price banners as well. Was a lovely touch to include a small part for the late Bobby Wilcox too.

Passing from scene to scene there'd be a fella playing the guitar to the sound of 'A Horse With No Name' by America, but with alternate lyrics relevant to our adventures in the European Cup. And as this was happening there'd be images and videos of our past and present players playing in the European Cup and lifting old big ears! Needless to say, the goosebumps on my arms kept appearing. Especially when Pink Floyd's 'Fearless' got played as well!

The cheers erupted when Phil Thompson entered the stage with a European Cup at the end. Can't begin to imagine what it must have been like on the opening night with Rafa, Sammy, Stevie and Carra entering the stage.

All in all. A superb night. I left the Empire bursting with pride.

Enjoyed it more than the match in truth.

What a night. Play is 10 out of 10. As well as being hilarious it brings back great memories of that night. Goosebunps a few times. And we see a cracking blonde, the one that was in Brookside I think, wearing only a Liverpool shirt     

Great to meet Kenny and MsG again and to meet Gow JD and Huyton for the 1st time. 3 sound lads there.

To use a scouse saying the play was BOSS and the night overall was well worth the journey over

What a fantastic night went with my mrs who was not looking forward to spending 2 hours with a gang off fellas ,by end of the night she was singing loud and proud like a true kopite.could any other club match this i dont think so .well done Nicky allt you pulled it off

Well my fellow Scousers have already said it all for me, it was indeed a great night, well worth the journey, as JD said, get down there before it finishes, you won't regret it, Crazy Horse is going on Friday, I know you'll love it Jay, enjoy.

For those who were there and for those who weren't but would liked to have been  Check out the half hour programme on LFC TV....From the Attaturk to the Empire, it starts off in Jamie's Sport England Cafe in Liverpool and goes right through to rehearsal night, an interesting programme and how the play was all put together.

It was on last night, I will try and find out when it's on again.

They pick five kids out the audience to lift the cups - nice touch that.
