@ ShanerB: you're right we seem to raise our game against the bigger boys thus far, so who knows?  But that's been because Chavski and ManUre have been prepared to come at us.  Just can't tell how your boys will set their stall.

@ Venison:  Even with that line-up you'll be hard pressed to make a game of it. :P  And with Hippo and Our Jaaaaaaammie in defence i'd fancy meself for a few goals.
Is your backline Finnan, hippo, Jaaaaaaaaamie & Deadly Dossena?  I place a bet on Ade scoring against that lot. ;)

well we didn't seem to sit back at all against chelsea and utd so don't see why we would against you lot considering we're top of the league and will probably need a win to stay there.

Our backline is a touh one to call, hasn't been much news on Aurelio's fitness so it could be him or Dossena, I know who I'm hoping for. Arbeloa will most likely be at right back, Finnan moved to Espanyol in the summer mate. Don't know whether he'll plump for Hyypia or Agger to partner Carra though, my bet would be Hyypia because of his size. You lot aren't the biggest so I could see him being a threat from set pieces

Mate, with Jaaaaaaamie in your team I'd be worrying about him scoring the goals for us.

no worried about that I am sure Bendtner will clear it off the line for him. Just like to say I hope the best team wins

yer right I hope even if you play us off the park, I hope we still do you, lets face it who would you rather win the league us or Chelsea

Mate your not in a position to be criticising us, you lot have some talented youngsters  fair enough but you are not gonna win the league and you seem a long way off having a squad to do so. I'll be honest, my heads telling me that Liverpool won't win the title because we haven't been impressive at all this season yet we still sit at the top of the league. Goes to show our squad is stronger all round.

the reason you don't have the right squad is down to one man, Wenger. The great Alan Hansen was right "you won't win anything with kids". Okay he was wrong once but it is true, but the squad you lot have is not good enough or experienced to compete consistently and I'm glad to say Liverpool are in a far stronger position than Arsenal.

Now stop just arguing stuff without backup, we debate things here, sometimes intelligently! If you think Rafa will F**k up, explain why. If not your just going to get banned, I expect very soon

I expect Keane to start. I have a feeling Benitez will start him and that means he will play two up front. I have a feeling Mascherano will be droped for this game. He hasent been playing well in the last few games, giving the ball away alot. His passing has been awful actuelly. We need a serious performance from Stevie and maybe another 25 yard screamer from Riera. I look forward so much to playing Arsenal more then any other team with the exception of Everton of course. We should not be afraid of playing Arsenal anymore. We should go there and be confident to get all three points. IMO if Keane starts he will bag us a couple of goals. Can u imagine how fired up he will be having sat out the last two games. Liverpool to win 3  1

Arsenal's bunch of kids can impress one game and not the next or they can go on a short impressive form BUT not all season long due to the age and the size of the squad. But i still respect them tho.

I am going for a tight Liverpool win, by a single goal.

My in depth preview (awaiting a BBC call up soon):

I think ball retention will be where its won or lost for us. They have an inexperienced side and naturally when you are young, you want the ball. Keep it from them, make them chase us and it'll put us in pole position. Also, they like space to move in and thats where i disagree with Hoganov. Masch defends in between the lines and thats where they play, i think Masch will be vital and if he has a good game we will win.

Of course our front men will have to hit them where it hurts but it wont be done there and Arsenal will be very hungry for a positive result. An action packed 90 minutes is on the cards and hopefully we can come away with the win.

      2-1 win to us.

I think we will win if we get at them from the start,Mascherano will be vital in stopping their quick passing game, the only worry i have is if Dossena is playing, the Arsenal wingers will have a field day against him, hopefully he will have a good game and prove me wrong.

      From Liverpoolfc.tv

Javier Mascherano has admitted the Reds are determined not to let Rafael Benitez down at Arsenal today after spending the week preparing for this afternoon's clash at Arsenal without their manager.
Benitez will be in the dug-out at the Emirates, but has been absent from Melwood all week after recovering from a minor operation.

Mascherano insists there has been a notable void at the training ground over recent days - but he is hopeful the players will secure top spot for Christmas with victory over the Gunners to put a smile back on the face of their boss.

"It has been a strange week, different," said Mascherano. "We are preparing for a big match and it's like 'Where is the boss?' We are so used to having him there all the time, getting involved with everything. You find yourself looking up to see him, and there is just a space.

"We don't want to let him down against Arsenal. He loves football so much, every aspect of it, so we know it must have been something important to have kept him away."

Mascherano is well aware that Arsenal's brand of football is considered to be easier on the eye than Liverpool's way of playing but, as well as disagreeing with that thought, the Argentine midfielder insists the only thing that matters is which team is celebrating title glory in May.

"I want to get results and win titles rather than be popular," he said. "I actually think Liverpool often play well, but maybe people like Arsenal more because they pass the ball too much.

"Liverpool's record shows you how hard it is to beat us. We never lose many games, this season we've been defeated just once in the league.

"We want to play the best way to win the title. If we end up as champions, it doesn't matter how we did it. And nobody will remember your football if you don't win the league."

According to that article Rafa will be at the match. Let's hope we win and make Rafa happy.
