      Amiga Emulator? Anybody?
      Dec 16, 2008 10:02:22 pm
I quite fancy playing some old Amiga games.

I know you have to get an emulator, get the Workbench roms and then 'convert' your old disks (which I haven't got anymore).

Anybody running a decent emulator and can recommend the program and let me know where I can get hold of the roms?

Especially want to dust down Project X which I used to love and run some of the demos.

Who remembers getting this for a £1 and sitting there awestruck in front of their Amiga about 16 years ago?

Emulator page for the Amiga, probably best getting the first one. ROM's are hard to come by these days unfortunately :(

The words I wasn't hoping to hear.  I'm not even sure modern disk drives can even recognise the old Amiga 720kb format anyway?

Saw a 1200 on ebay for a fiver. Collect from Glasgow - or maybe Preston when he's visiting his folks! ;)

Res had found me a good rom site so I'll have a crack on with that.

I've actually got one of those desktop widget things that is a Spectrum emulator but it looks like the Amiga one will be a little more involved...

AVG has checked all the sites I've been on too, and they're all clean. Have fun guys ;)

We all know the C64 was inferiior to the Speccy so I'm sure there is a similar 'widget' so it can just sit in your sidebar.

      Nice one Res!!!

And no JD, the c64 was years ahead of the speccy. The speccy didn't play music when it was loading games for a kick off....  ;)

Was Commodore not a product of Amstrad, Kenny? Also a sponsor of Chelsea!   :f_whistle:

i actually fitted my amiga in the bin about 8 years ago it was simply in the way, and i knew about emulation, ive got aobut 12 gig of games somewhere for amiga......best games for it where supercars 2, atr racing, project x... great machine, but with my new graphics cards it seems kind of pointless to me
