Maguire and Burnett are practice partners, both Scots and the result ended 9-3. All adds up to a fix to me. I doubt anything will come of it though, the snooker higher archy aren't gonna want to admit to such things going on. They'll keep it well hushed up.
Maguire is number 2 in the world as well, it's not like he's short of a few bob. You earn a decent whack for just getting through to the first round in snooker tournaments, never mind the later stages which is where Maguire usually ends up. Burnett isn't that great, but he's made the last two major tournaments on the BBC so again I see no reason, other than greed, to wanna match fix. Maguire beat Higgins tonight to make the semi finals, they'll be up roar if he goes on and wins the UK Championship now. If they're found out to have fixed the match, then they'll both be banned from the sport for life they were saying on the BBC yesterday.
